Well, on the 83+SE, the hex2sprite displayer is fairly fast. The only problem I seem to be having is the bit of lag for the 32x32 sprite sizes, but there is not much I can do about it... :(sad.gif

Hmm, I might have to port hex2sprite and sprite2hex to the 89... :Ptongue.gif

I think Hex2Sprite and Sprite2Hex would make a usefull flash application for those who know how (which would not be me since I don't), you could even have support for four level grayscale.

Well, I regret to inform you that Pokemon Purple is dead.

Wait a sec, that isn't what I was gonna say... Oh yeah! Now I remember, I picked back up on converting the sprites, got 2 done while at work, will continue to work on them tonight, maybe I can get 10 or so more completed. Hopefully a whole lot more, but eh.

Oh yeah, hope none of you died of a heart attack on me. ;)wink.gif

hehehe, I just wanted to make sure I had your attention, and of course throw out a bit of randomness ^_^

I have approx 110 more to go, give or take one or two :Ptongue.gif I managed to convert 4 of them this morning eating breakfast, in less than 15 minutes. (approx 4 minutes per sprite). So at this rate, I might have them all complete in 2 weeks. Then I need to start workin on a stats system, which I will just have to create based on the one that Pokemon actually uses. I might have to see if Mathstuf would be willing to assist with that... :)smile.gif

And THEN, I might finally be able to finish the items screen. :)smile.gif

lol, it is basically the same game as Blue, with added areas, more Pokemon, and better, cleaner graphics. The Pokemon sprites are actually from Leaf Green/Fire Red.

Right now there are still 386, but the competitive online community is eagerly awaiting the 500 mark with the upcoming release of Diamond and Pearl for DS. I'll add it'll have Wi-Fi battling too. ^^
I could probably advertise PP around on forums that would be allowed on...

So stats are next, after 100 more sprites? The stat/base stat data will take a load of memory from you. It'll depend more on if you decide to have the special stat broken or not; In RBY, the stats were Attack, Defend, Speed, and Special. In all generations since then, Special turned into Sp.Atk. and Sp.Def. I prefer the split, even if it wasn't part of the original games.
One of these days I'll get a sig I'm really proud of.

The split is probably key to balance.  If you ask me, the GBA versions brought a huge amount of balance between stat totals, possible movesets, and strategy.  With GBC version way back, my friend just pwned me all the time with a level 100 Alakazam, which really annoyed me.

I'm sad that pkmn will depart the GBX handhelds.  oh well, it would have really made me sad a long time ago.
