wow sound nice, but I think you should use the old Pok
basic pokemon logo:
omg it look better than the one i saw once :)
@tifreak8x I like the pokeballs :)
Here's a black and white of the original..you could change it however you wanted:
@Spellshaper: Do you have that as a .8xi??? That is amazing!
@Tenniskid: That would look alright on the 89, where you have smaller pixels, but it would be terribly distorted on the 83 series...
http://www.ihud.com/file.php?file=1133183149/POKEMON.8XI it is...
sound nice but yeah I figured out that resising pics in b/w gives odd results :(
that
yeah works better like that
Yay for awesome people!! lol
uh what wa s that about? :???:
Cause Spellshaper is a cool person for providing a .8xi file, instead of just an image. :D

1. *bow* 2. I just loaded the image into TI ScreenCapture and saved it as .8xi
I haven't reloaded that application since my comp crashed the last time... :(
I need to get around to reading through all the asm tutorials, so I can learn asm...
I assume you want to make AODR or ages of empire in assembly, right? :)
Maybe some helper progs... You realize how long it would take to code the game, since I only have an hour or to a night to work on it... Somedays, not even that.
yeah RPG in asm is kinda long to code, from what I've seen. That might be why all z80 RPGs over here (besides Blue WOrld Quest) are in BASIC
Well, don't get me wrong, I would like to take a shot at it, but once I am caught up with my projects...
This is a great example of why Omnimaga is such a great forum.
It is always good to see people helping others. Keep up the good work Tifreak and thanks for helping out Spellshaper. :)
Well, I got most of the title screen done, the way I want it, I just want to add something to the background, though I haven't figured out what yet...
Anyways, I did not get a screenie made, but I added the pokeballs, 3 to each side of the Purple box, add my url to the bottome, and added Press Enter between the url and the purple box...
cool ^^

Better? :D
That rockz! :ru13z:
Cause that screen isn
:o That would be uber sweet!!!!!!!!!!
What would it take to run on the calc, though?? :???:
I also have started in on the readme, you are definitely in the creds. ;)
It wouldn
very cool, rigview can make good gs pic indeed :)

awesome title screen :ru13z: have u ever considered switching the game to xlib? or just wanted to keep it old school ascii graphics, which are still awesome :)
This is looking very sweet Tifreak! B)
Thanks. :)
I think for now, I just want to keep it old school. The maps and graphics won't be much of a problem, the data storage will be...
http://www.ihud.com/file.php?file=1133367496/POKE.8XP it is!
Oncalc: 1181 bytes
looks like that:

btw: you "turned" the pokeballs upside down, normally the
O_O
Dude, you are awesome...
Are you at school? lol, I see you on here all the time...
Oh yeah, I guess I did turn them upside down...

Yeah, I still got to go to school <_< (2 years left) Well, I managed to cut my lessons down to 30 lessons a 45min. by choosing the right courses... AND we
O_O O_O O_O Holy shit now you almost gave me an heart attack O_O cool job on the pic :D
@tifreak8x I think school is finished at that time of the day in Germany :) (must be evening right now)
aaah, you meant the daytime %) it
You are from Germany? I didn't know. I was born in Germany, in Crailshiem (I think that is spelled right...)
And no, I don't speak German, that skill still eludes me...
*lol* I can speak English and German... besides that, I had Latin but I chose to let that fall and I understand a bit of Ptagalog (dunno if that
Added on me calc, looks fairly good, though I will need to set the contrast before displaying...
if spellshaper sent u the gs pic you can adjust setting in rigview so if there is too many scanlines you can set it so there arent too much
but that
Well, I don't know anything about rigview...
It looks fairly good with a darker Contrast setting, so I might just do that...
spellshaper, u have definitely got to be the best title screenmaker around here  Awesome work :thumb:

O_O O_O O_O Very nice :lmao: I can hear it saying, "Play me, play me."
I will try to provide a screenshot for the menu that you get after you press a key. :)
Also, sometimes you have to hit enter several times before it takes it, is that a problem within the rigview program?
QuoteBegin-tifreak8x+1 December 2005, 14:1-->QUOTE (tifreak8x @ 1 December 2005, 14:10) | Also, sometimes you have to hit enter several times before it takes it, is that a problem within the rigview program? |
No, that
It is a problem with exiting, not exiting fast enough... I start the program, it sets up some of the variables, then displays the screen within this loop:
Repeat getKey Asm(thetaPOKE End
And sometimes, not all the time, it is hard to exit with ENTER, but press any other key, and it exits perfectly, everytime...
???why are u using it with a repeat function??? just do
:[whatever] :Asm(prgmthetaPOKE :[whatever else]
The logo already has an exit function on key press integrated...
If I don't put it in a repeat function, it will just display some stuff on the screen, and go immeadiately to the next function, it has to be in a loop for it to work correctly...
I still don
I have the program set up some variables that are needed, like the window variables. then I have it go to the title screen, but I have to put it in a loop, because otherwise you will catch a brief glimpse of the title before it clears and goes to the main menu. I don't have the code available on comp yet, but that is basically all it does. If I loop it, it works, if I don't, it doesn't work. It really isn't that big of a deal...
dunno... can
Nope, still does not work. I can live with what is there. :)
I will just have to make sure to note it in the readme...
If u say so... but it still puzzles me... I just can
lol
This is what I live by:
If it ain't broke, don't fix it! >D
So as long as it works, I ain't messin with it. :)
QuoteBegin-tifreak8x+1 December 2005, 13:19-->QUOTE (tifreak8x @ 1 December 2005, 13:19) | If I don't put it in a repeat function, it will just display some stuff on the screen, and go immeadiately to the next function, it has to be in a loop for it to work correctly... |
To fix this with Rigview, you need to do this:
:ClrDraw :DispGraph :Asm(prgmthetaPOKE
That way it will stay on screen until you press a key.
Ok, I might try that. Thanks. :)
alas, the missing piece in this riddle is found :D
Yup. now you will not have to worry about it anymore. lol
what you can do (altough it flickers when you hold down a key) is to do this:
0getkey Repeat Z=21 or Z=105 Asm(prgmPICNAME Getkey->Z End that way it will be displayed until you press 2nd or Enter, it will not exit with any key anymore
I don't mind it with any key, besides, with this game, I will need to make sure that everything stays as small as possible...
:Asm(prgm--name-- :Asm(prgm--name--
always works for me
