Gaming Discussion / Re: My BRUTE

Pupils are easy to get. Just post a topic like this in all the site you know.

I've had the worst luck with drawing my weapons.
Oh well, this fight was still awesome.

Gaming Discussion / My BRUTE
« on: April 14, 2009, 09:19:30 pm »
Fun new online game I found.
Register Here: http://nyaar.mybrute.com/
Example battle: http://nyaar.mybrute.com/fight/35203198

The whole thing is randomly generated. When you create a character, your stats, weapons, pets, and abilities are all randomly generated.
The battles are randomly generated based on the stats and even when you level up, what you get is randomly generated. (from new weapons, pets, abilities and stats)

Sign up by making a character and fighting mine. This first battle won't count against you if you lose.
From there, go to your cell and create a password for the character. If you don't, anyone can play the character at anytime.
Finally, go play your first six battles in the arena. After that, every day you get to fight 3 more times.
All battles are recorded automatically for later reference. Check your cell to see the battles on the side.
Make sure to bookmark any ones you want to save because when it's knocked off the list, you can't get to them without the exact link anymore.

Every battle you participate in gives you experience (1 if you lose, 2 if you win) and you can also get experience by gaining pupils.
To do that, you just have to have new players link to your character and register by fighting it. From then on, you get 1 exp per level they gain.

So, fight my character, join the fun.

Web Programming and Design / IRC Bot, lol
« on: April 12, 2009, 03:51:35 pm »
I've been chatting in another community in IRC quite a bit recently.
Last night I got the idea to program an IRC bot for the hell of it.

I've gotten quite a bit done already. Still working on more things.
You'll notice some of it seems a bit too specialized to just be thrown into any channel... well, that's because I'm programming it for the MT community.
Still, I thought SOMEONE might find the project interesting. =P

Code: [Select]
Current commands are as follows: (there are a few secret ones not listed)

Screencaps: If I detect that someone is requesting screencaps, I'll link you to the Official Unofficial MegaTokyo: Screencaps page.
All you need to do is have "screencaps?" somewhere in your message.
-----------------
RMR: Random Music Request. This will grab a random song from a list depending on the requested genre and link you to that song.
Genres accepted: Techno, Rock, Rap, Country, Opera, Metal, Classical, Jazz, Remix, Pop, Touhou, and Japan.
Syntax: RMR genre | Example: RMR techno

To contribute use this code: rmr add GENRE SONGNAME: LINK
The words in capitals are to be replaced by what they describe.
Example: RMR add techno Dota:
-----------------
Failj detection: When someone types 'failj' in chat, it posts a humorous response from a list of about 6 right now.
Idea courtesy of: Yamagiz.
-----------------
HUGZ: I gladly give out hugs on request. Just include 'hug plz' somewhere in your message and you shall be given one.
-----------------
Bot?: I'm fairly good at detecting when someone might think I'm a bot and will give a random response from a list when I detect such.
-----------------
WB: When someone says "I'm back", I'll give a response to them.
-----------------
End of commands.

Mouse. (I'm poor.)

As for the virus problem... had to reinstall Windows.
I saved all my important data though so no problem.
Just need to reinstall my games and other programs.

On that note... I'll continue working on my website today.

Photoshop 7
I've stopped coloring for coding recently... I'll definitely pick this stuff up later though.

Also... need to work on getting rid of these damn viruses. >_<
Almost done, I think.

All the code is mine. Coded from scratch.
Both the CSS and PHP. (albeit, I styled the CSS like a forum)

Though the actual images (the bars and background and such) were made by Kman of Kskins (looks like his site was taken down too) and then edited by me. The banner was made by my ex-girlfriend though.

Anyway, I don't think the site will be back up for a little while.
I'm too busy to work on it now.

Yeah, I apologize everyone.
If you checked the site in the past few days, I'd recommend a virus scan soon.
As Omni said, I was infected and it got into my .php files which I uploaded without knowing.

As for the tutorials, not much. Beginner TI-Basic video tutorials and the Celtic III Animated Background tutorial is all I have right now.

I'm back to coding this beast.
My main problem was the battle/statless systems... well, during a talk with Omni, I had a great idea.
He doesn't know what it is and I don't plan on telling anyone until I get a screenshot ready... or at least the whole thing coded correctly.

In any case... just know that I'll be updating you guys with some progress this weekend.

I made it up myself. ;P
You basically have to manage a dungeon: monsters, traps...
It's the opposite of Fangh RPG: instead of trying to get into a dungeon and get the treasure, you protect it.

It will have a multiplayer option, where one person tries to get the treasure (in an RPG-style way) with the Fangh RPG, while the other has to set up traps and buy monsters with the Dungeon Tycoon program. But I'll have to learn how to do linking first.

If anything isn't clear enough, I can explain it further, just ask.

Sounds like: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dungeon_Keeper
And: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dungeon_Keeper_2

You have a point there.
Rawr... I definitely need to get back to coding this beast.
Just need to work out those systems... >_<

Inspiration come to me.

"Omnimaga" gives us Kevin for the entire first page.
I didn't bother to check the rest... but you can get to him from any link on the first page.

Unfortunately, "{AP}" gives a lot of other things.

« on: March 29, 2009, 02:22:39 pm »
Not saying there's anything wrong with them.
It's just that it IS an inconvenience to have to mess with that many subprograms.
I do respect all the work put into them and have never dissed the games themselves, just that feature.
Face it, no game is perfect, but if the only problem is that it's a minor inconvenience to have so many programs on your list then it's damn near close to perfect.

In my case, I was just letting Skuller know that my game wasn't going to have too many and that the ones I do have will be hidden.
______________

And, yes, I know you were talking to me too, because you said 'guys' and the only ones to bring it up are skuller and I.
