Thanks so much legimet, I realized too late that I wont be able to use nlaunchy. I don't even think I am going to mess with it. I have a ti-89 titanium I can use tomorrow for my test. I just wanted the inspire cx to put my word docs on so I can use them during the test tomorrow.

Im going to sell this one on ebay next week and just get the inspire CX CAS

These were the steps i followed

PREVIOUSLY : in case you have installed Ndless in the past, uninstall , launching ' ndless_ressources 'in the' Ndless 'on the calculator.
Calculator restarts.
(NB: If you do not want to keep Ndless later you can delete the folder ' Ndless 'calculator AFTER you have uninstalled.)SPOILER: SHOW

Download the software transfer: http://ti-pla.net/a5489
Install the software transfer of TI-Nspire Computer Link ', double click' TI_Nspire_Computer_Link_3.2.0.123.exe '

Connect your calculator, turn on, open the software, if the software provides updates, SAY NO TO

Open the folder ' TI-Nspire CX 'of this pack and send the file' nlaunch 'to the calculator in the' my filing 'via
Turn the calculator  : NSCT:  : Nson:
Handling difficult if you only have two hands:
Simultaneously press : Nsee:+ : NSDO:+  : NSEN:
Without let go, Cope to click on the ' reset 'with a pen or a touch on the back of the TI-Nspire CX.

IT displays a diagnostic screen: ' Maintenance Options . '
Type  : Ns2:then  : Ns1: . (to delete the current OS)
When the message " Press Any key to restart 'appears, press any key.

IT restarts, but displays a message " Operating System not found. Send OS upgrade now. '
Reopen transfer software, click the icon at the bottom right of the window and select your IT in the list.

Send ' nlaunch.tco 'the calculator. [Yes] to the warning.
Very shortly thereafter, an error message appears.
Disconnect the calculator, close the program, and the wait time calculator to start up (maximum 3 minutes).
Perhaps the calculator restarts 2 or 3 times. You must note the presence of characters' ABC123 'at the top left of the start screen

^^I used the Pack_de_transformation_TI_Nspire__CX__en_TI_Nspire__CX__CAS___ (1).zip from TI-planet.

right now my OS is deleted and stuck on the 60% bar screen. I was going to try to process using TNOC_en.exe, but when i try and send my TI-NspireCXCAS-3.2.3.1233_b.tcc file to my calc it says I cant update my calc with an older oS

Edit: I'm not sure what steps I could have done wrong. I unpacked the files. sent the nlaunch folder over, deleted the os, sent the nlaunch.tco file and unplugged the TI. It just sits on the "operating system not found" screen. There are no letters in the upper left corner.

I have tried multiple nlaunch.tco files

OS 0.0.0
boot version 1 (3.0.99)
boot version 2 (3.24.7)

TI-Nspire / Stuck upgrading CX to CX CAS nlaunch.tco does nothing.
« on: September 26, 2013, 03:40:55 pm »
Hey guys, I am at the last step of upgrading my cx to a cas cx. Sending the nlaunch.tco file to my ti device does nothing. I get the typical error message, but my calc stays stuck on 60% with the "no os installed" message. I have tried d/l different nlanch.tco files but that did not fix anything.

Any ideas on what I can try?

TI-Nspire / Easiest way to install CAS on Ti NSpire Cx
« on: September 26, 2013, 01:33:59 pm »
Is the easiest method the one given in the nlaunchcx readme file?

0) backup your documents from your nspire on your computer
1) install the 3.1.0.16 boot2, usually known as "3.1".
If you have installed OS 3.1.0.392, 3.2.0.1212, 3.2.0.1219 or 3.2.3.1233 you
already have it. If you have installed any newer version, you probably will
not be able to easily install the 3.1.0.16 boot2.
   Otherwise, install OS 3.1.0.392:
   CX CAS: http://ti-pla.net/a3718
   CX    : http://ti-pla.net/a3717
2) get a compatible OS. See
   http://tiplanet.org/forum/archives_list.php?id=OS+Nspire
   - NOTE: Not all TI-OSes are compatible with nLaunch.
     OSes 3.1.0.392, 3.2.0.1212, 3.2.0.1219 and 3.2.3.1233 are.
For a full list of compatible OSes, check src/patch.c
3) use TNOC ( http://ti-pla.net/a1922 ) on the OS upgrade to remove the boot2
(you can remove the examples too)
4) rename the TNOC'ed OS to phoenix.tns
5) transfer phoenix.tns to your calculator in the folder /nlaunch/, being at
the root of the user-accessible part of the file-system
6) get to the CX folder
7) transfer nlaunch.tns and preloader.tns to your calculator in the folder
/nlaunch/, being at the root of the user-accessible part of the file-system
8) if you have installed it on OS 3.1.0.392, uninstall Ndless by launching
   ndless_resources.tns
9) reboot (the reset button is the easiest way), go to the maintenance menu
   ( http://ti-pla.net/t5360 ), delete OS (option 2)
10)reboot, transfer nlaunch.tco/tcc to your calculator (an error will certainly
be shown on the computer, check if it is ok on your calculator)
   - /!\ the initial exploit can fail. If the progress bar is stuck at 60% and
nothing is shown (you should briefly see "YZ") at the top left of the
screen, reset and send nlaunch.tco/tcc again.
   - /!\ getting to the OS the first time can be fairly long (max 3 min); the
progression bar can be quite unstable. If the bar did not move at all
during 3 minutes, consider the boot as a failure
   - NOTE: unplugging the USB cable "at the right time", i.e. after sending
the TNO/TNC and shortly after the bar has reached 60% again, may increase
the reliability of the installation procedure. Likewise, the second
generation of Ndless (1.7/2.0) worked better when USB was unplugged.
11)enjoy :-)
   - /!\ when rebooting, the progress bar can sometimes be stuck a 60% with
nothing shown at the top left of the screen. Simply press "reset" until it
     works.
NOTE: if it is working fine and you want nLaunch to be more stealthy when
booting, you can compile a quiet version ("DEBUG 1" in nlaunch.c).

Seems pretty complicated. I am confused on how to find a compatible OS
