Computer Projects and Ideas / XP Maintenance 3.2 Announced
« on: May 12, 2010, 10:10:51 am »
Ok here is the synopsis. Don't want to seem like a jerk, I've already pretty much acted like one here anyway. And I say sorry too much.

But back to the idea:

I am officially announcing the development of XP Maintenance 3.2. This is the first time batch will no longer be used for ANYTHING. I felt it was too much of a hassle for the idea of a simple computer maintenance program. So an array of programming languages were put on the table to replace batch files, and Visual Basic.net was selected due to how easy it is to code in VB.net. There have been a few setbacks in this new release, but development is nearing completion. The preliminary release date for Beta 1 is Saturday May 15, 2010 at 7:00 PM. If the date changes for any reason, I will post here to let you guys know. Project information and downloads can be found at http://www.xpmaintenance.com/ or http://www.joldzic.net/. Please give feedback when I release, my feedback form has returned very limited results. Thank you, and my apologies if I seemed arrogant at any time in this posting, it's the morning, I am not thinking straight. Once again, thank you. :)

Alright Geniuses of the World, here is a problem you guys can try your hands at for me. I have a console application with an added form for the next release of my most successful project, XP Maintenance. Just one problem, when the Form calls a method that executes system shell commands, while the shell commands operate without much problem, the GUI on the Form freezes and goes white. Not too good-looking to an average user, so i want to know if it is possible to fix this problem. Source code attached.

Introduce Yourself! / Hello! I am Stephan!
« on: April 24, 2010, 09:19:29 pm »
Hi, I am Stephan. I am probably already well known on the omnimaga IRC server, but decided I would give my forum account a jump start. I know little calculator programming, but hope that my experience on Omnimaga will teach me how to program on the calc well. I am an avid Visual Basic programmer, so I guess that is a semi-start, considering that TI-84 programming incorporates BASIC coding, and VB is a very modified and enhanced form of BASIC. Hope to learn a lot here and meet new people!!!! Oh, and DJ, please stay on IRC, people are gonna troll and be stupid, there is nothing you can do, and you just gotta deal with it. That is one of the risks, and if I've learned anything so far in my life, I've learned you can't defend everyone, and sometimes not even yourself. So please take that advice in your mind the next time some moron trolls, floods, spams, or gives you other problems on the IRC channels. The internet is a crazy place.
