How to become a speedcuber ?
1. Get a Speedcube on popbuying.com or other sites.
2. Learn an advanced method for solving the cube, to become faster.
-> Most of the speedcubers are using the Friedrich method (1. F2L, 2. OLL, 3. PLL) , you can find those algorithms on kungfoomanchu.com
      -F2L (42 algorithms)
      -OLL (58 algorithms)
      -PLL (21 algorithms)
      total: 121 algorithms
3. Learn how to use fingertricks (youtube.com)
4. TRAIN, TRAIN and TRAIN ! ;)

Speedcubes:
Those cubes are "special" cubes, because they are much lighter as the original Rubik's Cube.
Those cubes have a good cornercutting (up to 45° !), they are smooth and fast.
The core and those pieces of the cube are created differnetly from cube to cube. Most of the speedcubers are using A-Cube's from Haiyan or FII from ShengEN. But it depends on the cuber, which cube you'd prefer. Some cubers like it more "slow" and less cornercutting, others like it more fast but have to take the risk, that the cube can pop.

The World record is hold by Feliks Zemdegs with 5.66 seconds. He was playing with the cube "Dayan V" in white.
Feliks average is around 9-10 seconds.

EDIT: How to tune up my old Rubik's Cube?
-Buy silicone spray and spray that in your cube
-Make 200-300 solves and the cube will be faster (sounds long, but it isn't ;) )
