Thank you very much it worked, a little bit of a hassle to get it to transfer but all is well.

General Calculator Help / Re: Reflash boot2 Via Arduino Uno?

I am almost certain it does, I get console output from the calculator, but for some reason every time I try to upload the boot2 to the calculator, it fails and tries to retry sending the packet until it shuts down. Would the voltages matter if you get console output? It doesn't seem like it fried anything.

General Calculator Help / Reflash boot2 Via Arduino Uno?
« on: July 29, 2012, 02:51:32 am »
Is this possible, I have been trying for a while but I continue to get the error: retrying. I am guessing that the calculator will not accept the boot2 from my computer when trying to send via Xmodem. I am using hyperterminal and it just gives me an error when I try to send the file, it never gets past 0 percent. I am not sure why it refuses to do this. I get to the poing where it says ready to Download boot2 then it will not accept the file it just retries until it reboots. Can anyone give advice?

TI-Nspire / Re: OSLauncher 3.1
« on: May 17, 2012, 12:31:33 pm »
Just an idea, but since the menus are messed up, why not when hot booting the os, make it load the menu icons from say a folder in the user storage rather then from the actual rom installed on the calc. For example if the os 3.02 is hot booted when throwing it on the ram, make it load icons from a folder rather than from the installed rom. Or maybe when the program is executed, make it load the icons (which are stored in the user space) to the ram then the hot booted os will load those icon from the ram rather than from the installed os. Dont bash me too hard lol.

General Calculator Help / Re: [Q]Boot2 Flashing
« on: April 01, 2012, 07:03:33 pm »
oh cool, I asked because there is a nspire CX boot2 downgrader; and I know that the cx comes preloaded with the 3.xx firmware. But thats still ok, I will just have to go and build the rs232 adapter. Hope some day a bootflasher for the original nspire is released. Just one more question. If I were to get it downgraded to a 2.xx would I be able to do a safe upgrade where I can easily downgrade if need be? I heard about tnoc; but I wasn't sure if it would be a good solution for this.

Since there has been recent news about flashing boot2's and changing prototype to retail, is there any way to downgrade the nspire from 3.1 to a 2.x?

General Calculator Help / [Q]Boot2 Flashing

Just a question (Don't know if this is a dumb question), What If I were to flash a CAS boot2 to my non-CAS? Would that allow me to install a CAS OS? Or will the boot1 say it isn't valid and break my system. Also Was wondering if someone could clear up the issue we are having with cracking the RSA key. What is the RSA key used for?

Thanks,

Just introducing myself :D. My name is Kevin, and I am joining this forum to learn more about Calculators, and how they function, and hopefully put forward some of my own work.

@Jonius7 well I have never actually programmed for the nspire, but I have done some basic ti basic (no pun intended). But I am a CS student and I am familiar with Java and a little ASM, learning C# atm, but never really programmed for calculators. Mostly for OS launcher :D, but Also I may later upgrade and use an updated tnoc to not update the boot2.

I am sad :( but I may be able to build one... or just buy one. Well there are a few tools that aren't ported to the 3.1 os. After I acquire this tool will I need any other hardware?(as far as I can tell no) but thank you all for the warm welcomes :)

General Calculator Help / How would I go about to downgrade Ti Nspire 3.1
« on: February 27, 2012, 11:47:57 pm »
I am an idiot and upgraded to this firmware but now I want to downgrade it to something like 2.1. Either way, I came across this http://tiplanet.org/forum/archives_voir.php?id=3503&play= and was wondering what else do I need? I have a usb to serial adapter and was wondering If I needed other hardware to change my boot2 so I can downgrade. I found this tutorial http://sodoityourself.com/max232-serial-level-converter/ as well Can anyone clarify what I need inorder to downgrade (I am not sure what kind of serial this usb to serial adapter is) here are some pics of the serial adapter:

and

If anyone can please help me I would greatly appreciate it
