I think this is why TI gave some devices out so developers can test them.
I still wonder, could it be possible that the CX was rewritted from scratch? Regular nSpire will display a syntax error, so it's possible that TI could've missed this little detail when editing some code for the CX.

[insert nspire header here] disp "POKE POKE POKE HER FACE" EndPrgm.
It did nothing but print "POKE POKE POKE HER FACE".

Hm. There doesn't seem to be a "[nSpire Apps] Math/Science" app section. I'll try to get in touch with an admin.

Oooh. I'll look into that.
I have to submit a form to get my app listed in the directory, right? A forum post won't do?

I like output variables personally. This looks nice. I have a nonCAs that doubles as a CAs currently so I can use it symbollically and regularly
Welcome to omni. Have you posted an introduction topic yet so you can get your peanuts? I wish you great luckin programming further on the nSpire
Alright, I'll add that. You dual-booted your device? Or did you hack CAS software into it? Yea, I got my peanuts. And thanks for the warm welcome.

This is known as ISP hijacking, where incorrect URLs will cause a search page from the ISP to show. You can (usually) opt out of it, but it requires setting a specific resolving server, something that I think I know how to do but don't feel like doing it.
Just use OpenDNS instead of your ISP's default. OpenDNS actually has a functional search page rather than paid, sponsored results.

It's one of those "place-holder" pages. Like when you type google.com or yahoo.com wrong, it could redirect to an advertisement page, where you could encounter pop-ups and virus. (Although viruses are unlikely.)
If this happened to all your devices, then it's most likely not a DNS poisoning. Rest assured.

SO I think For loop syntax doesn't change much, if at all, between languages, it's a pretty common structure, but it can't hurt to check. Oh, and I forgot to mention that an increment of 0 is never valid
So I should make sure that my inputted n is +1'd before I the program goes on, right?

Slightly OT: The nSpire has great potential. It is only limited by the company's unethical limiting practices. But I still don't understand why the nSpire is "held back", even though the "standard" is an 84 or 84SE. I mean, if engineers and math enthusiasts are the general users of the nSpire, then why limit them? It's most likely that TI wants to stay within the SAT limits for a calculator, but that test only comes once (or twice) in a lifetime for students. After that, they're in college or at a job. And at that point, the limits will only hurt more since they deter functionality so much.
I'll change my standpoint to that we should embrace both "standards", test the new LUA and see how limited it is. Then we will wait to see which standard will prevail over the other.
Fun fact: For mac, the nSpire desktop program was written in Java.

My brother has a nspire(non cas) which I don't even go on, but I hope this will help other people who do have a CAS and have these dificulties. Good to see you already released a program. Good luck with further programming.
Thanks. To the community: Would you much perfer if I had a "output" var recorded after the program is complete or would rather use the arrow keys to select the output? The "done" line is very inconvenient for normal use.

One of my pet peeves about my nSpire CAS, is that: although it is marketed as a CAS, it sometimes doesn't work the way I expect from a $150 device. One of these things that fail is "FOIL"-ing, also known as First Outer Inner Last. When working with many math equations such as factoring or quadratic stuff, many (2x-4)(4x+2)-like (in format) strings come up and become very tedious to solve or simplify. That's why I figured out AutoFoil! It saves time with the whole FOIL thing and saves paper space! (And it helps me be lazy. ) This program is also very easy to work with. In fact, with the recent 3.0 update, a wizard for AutoFoil has been implemented. But to keep nice with 2.0 users, I have also included a "legacy" version inside the program file. The program is very straight-forward. Give the required inputs and you're done. For the legacy version however, you must include in this format: (f1,f2,f3,f4). Commands: (Must be accessed from the library function, be sure to refresh libraries) *autofoil: Launches the autofoil wizard *autofoillegacy: (f1,f2,f3,f4) Takes the inputs and simplifies it using the FOIL method. *about: credits and such. How to install: 1. Open up nSpire Mac/PC software. 2. Load Autofoil.tnc to your calculator 3. Disconnect calculator 4. Refresh libraries. (Doc>Refresh Libraries) DOWNLOAD HERE: (Removed. See the TICalc.org page.) I should mention that symbolic things only work on CAS. To [attempt] to use on the regular nSpire, rename the tns extension to tnc. Thanks but... That's for TI-84. I forgot to mention I'm working with nSpire code. Sorry. BUT! I did look up the "For" command in my reference guide. I'll take your advice and be sure to figure out how it works! Thank you!

Well an issue tho is that Nspire basic is extremly limited. You don't even have getkey or Output() so basically interactive games like a tilemap-based RPG or platformer would be impossible , unlike Lua, ASM and C. However I guess you could do some other types of game, though.
As for Gaga I don't mind Alejandro, but otherwise I'm not a big fan of that music (I prefer '90s eurodance, uk hardcore, eurobeat and italo-disco)
I'm not really one to design and create games. I work better with programs that have a purpose and can pursue a productive goal. That's why theres a lot of math apps on my page! Oh come on, you know you wub Gaga.

From what I can gather, it's because he is testing the new Lua scripting tools from them, but I could be wrong. It could also be in response to the controvesy they caused on TI-BANK and Univers-TI-Nspire a month ago, which almost lead to TI-BANK shut down.
OffT: :O What was this controversy about?
