AMD processors are quite a bit cheaper. I know you don't get quite the same preformance as Intel, but it's something to consider. There are also definetley cheaper power supplies. I was looking at <a href=http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817148046> this one</a> for a pc build I'm working on. Not sure what you need power wise, but even if you need a bit more power than that there are cheaper options. You could also probably go for a cheaper graphics card with similar specs if you don't mind dropping the clock speed a bit.

Mighty no. 9 has just added paypal support. I'm pretty happy, as I think it'll bring more backers in. We also just passed the stretch goal for current consoles (PS3, XBOX-360, and WII-U)yesterday. :D

Could you perhaps use the ASM program that puts it in 160x120 mode and stretches things? *edit* what about using a series of (non filled) lines?

This is silly. We should all be working together towards a common goal; making the calculators we all know and love an open platform for development. Why should anyone care if we or any of the other sites started as TI fansites? We all want the same thing. The truth is that over time, the TI community has largely expanded. These days were are a more broad "Graphing calculator hobbyist community" instead.

Back on topic, I'd love to help with making the Prime an open format, but I have no experience in this area, and no idea where to start. I will however be placing my preorder for one shortly. :)

*edit* Just checked out their forums, To say the least, they are really dated. I can't even register unfortunately. I only have hotmail. I don't have access to a non-free email account. Their alternative is a bit ridiculous unfortunately. :/
