Gaming Discussion / Re: Your best video game pickups.

Yea, it's been a while since I've seen a review of the two games side by side, but that was very common in the 90's. Also, Game grumps isn't the same at all without Jon. :/ They had a great dynamic going, and that really isn't there anymore.

Yea, iirc they are actually a bit different in this case, and I think Keoni is correct. *edit* Some very nice pickups there too btw DJ.

I was a sleepy when I was working on it, so if it isn't centered that's why I goofed. I thought I did center it, but I must have forgotten to check it before I posted it. Not feeling too well at the moment either :/. Gonna try to take a nap. I can fix it later, or someone else can if they get to it before I do. Glad you guys like it though. :) *Edit* Also, I think copyright stuff would go in credits. The title screen is a bit cramped unfortunately.

My attempt at a title mockup. Do with it as you like. :)

*Edit* Inspiration!

Done. :) I think the non-monospaced (though I thought it was mono-spaced ???) looks better as well. Good job with it. :thumbsup: Not going to use XI for eleven though?

@Xeda:
For Pokemon front sprites I have several I was working on for Buckeyedude's Pokemon Red clone. They are a little bigger than what you were talking about (32X32) and are 4 level gray. They could probably be adapted for monochrome though. I'm not sure how they would work being shrunk further, as they are already pretty small. You are welcome to them if you like. Also, I believe Joe Young has some fantastic looking custom monochrome sprites he made for a Pokemon battle simulator. They are probably closer to the size you'd want. You may want to ask him about them.

Very interesting, I'm a bit surprised to see this come about so quickly. I'm curious to see how it will compare feature-wise to xLIB that Tr1p1ea currently has under development.

I would say it depends on the program in question. If the program is hardware independent then it's more likely. Some stuff might work with some modifications, and some not at all.

The 84+ has quite a lot of memory. You will be able to fit a quite a few games with no problem. Welcome to Omnimaga by the way. :)

*edit* Fixed a typo. Silly cellphones...

I'm not familiar with the tune, but I like your retro remake better than the original you linked to. :) Reminds me of something you'd hear in a 16-bit beat-em-up like Streets of Rage.

There's no need to make redundant posts about the same thing. If someone has an answer for you, they'll post. :) I deleted the other topic.
