Whoops nope I completely forgot ^^"
I have an idea for it though. Gimme a sec and this time I'll force myself to write it down
Edit: Ok, so I have some of it written up, I'll finish the rest tomorrow.
Edit2:
Holy Calculator~
Many claim the Holy Calculator is a myth. However, its existence is far from unconfirmed. Why, you only need to ask Omnimaga himself and he'll explain to you the story in its entirety. We have known, that heroes of the far past have wielded powerful artifacts. And The Holy Calculator is only one of several names it has been given. Some call it, the First Calculator. Others, The Infinity Relic. Even the Computer Lands know of it and within their vast empire it is known as the Lost Quantum Bit Machine. Indeed, the evidence is too clear to disprove its existence. And it's effects and contributions to the world by those who have wielded it are still felt to this day. I'm writing it in this style for immersion, then a more complete bulletin point format afterwards.
Actually, that sounds quite good! ++Homer

Chilliax. One person that mentioned it was a moderator(myself) and another a forum admin. We just want to make sure people follow the rules, that's all. We have also had people in the past that seemed to miss what we were saying completely despite it being pointed out to them. In regards to sprite size, 4x4 or less is pretty small, especially for a game done from a top down perspective. I don't think you'll be able to get the detail you want out of that. I'd recommend giving 8x8 a try.

That version in the screenie updates the LCD every single frame, even if nothing has changed. The grayscale tiles update every frame, the ones in the middle-ish of the map update every 5 frames and the ones on the outer edge update once every 16 frames. I'm pretty sure speed won't be an issue, and even if I add the variable speed to the Axe version, it will only add a thousand cycles or less (still keeping it >60FPS). I am still trying to figure out a more clever and efficient method for this, though. It will be particularly difficult to smooth scroll the map with masking and a player sprite on it
I forgot that grayscale would be updating every frame regardless... wasn't thinking lol. Even if it slows down to 40, that's still fine. A lot of games slow down when a lot of things are being updated on screen.

Wow, variable speeds. I was thinking about this earlier today. Very nice! If speed becomes an issue the variable animation speed can probably be dropped though.

@XiiR3CR34T10N: You don't have to double post if you have another quick thought to add. That's what the "modify" button is there for. I merged your two posts.

20. Chrono Trigger Some of the quests are completely non-obvious, and If you're not careful you miss the best armors in the game.
Also, you have to choose between armor that drops damage to 1/3, or a weapon that does more damage, IIRC. I always took the armor
This and the fact that there are multiple endings that are affected by in game actions. That means you would have to replay the game multiple times to see all the endings. @DJ_O permadeath= Permanent Death

Posted from cell earlier. I can actually see the screen shot now. Looks nice. Why do you think 16x16 would be more difficult? *Edit* oh, and i wouldn't worry too much about timing. It can fine tuned later.

I agree. It really just need to support whatever size we decide that we are going to use.

Steam specializes in making you not buy the same game twice. The problem with the Xbox is that it doesn't run Steam. AFAICT PS3 games from valve can be registered on Steam, so you can play them on the PC too.
I personally think the Ouya made a mistake by requiring Free to Play. Why can't that be up to the developers?
Personal gripes with F2P
* It means you don't actually own the game. * It doesn't work unless there's content to buy internally. (RPGs, for example) * It requires developers to force something they don't want into their games, be it advertisements or in-game money supplies. * It requires the game to be something to be played consistently, rather than in short spurts. Only the truly addicted will buy anything. * Free to Play means constantly being annoyed by the ability to spend MORE money on a game. You can never spend too much on a "Free to Play" game. * Extreme gameplay imbalances are created by those who are willing to spend money.
I'm not saying F2P is a terrible thing, just that it doesn't always work. This means that, IMO, the Ouya is limiting itself to a particular range of games. That's a bad thing. They don't yet know their userbase, so they don't know what kind of games are going to be the most successful.
Now, I'm not saying the Ouya won't succeed. I just won't get one.
Oh, also, the primary motivation for developers like Valve to make their own console is that they can optimize heavily for it. That means that you get more performance for cost, so there's an incentive to buy the console rather than have a massive gaming computer. Cheap computer+console = $800-ish. Expensive computer for gaming > $1000
You do realize that the F2p condition means they could do something as simple as providing a demo right? It does not have to be integrated into the developer's final product. I myself am actually quite interested in the Ouya. *Edit* Overlooked Homer's post but yea...

zStart represent!
(Yeah, I'm going to assume this is totally my fault. MathPrint is the devil and I hate it. A lot of stuff in zStart crashes if you have MathPrint enabled even though I specifically coded it to do stuff differently when MathPrint is enabled.)
It's still not your fault that Math Print is buggy as hell. If TI would just fix the mess they made there would be no problem.
