Yea, I think Hero Core was actually inspired by it. I actually managed to snag the Atari game a short while ago for 18.58 (shipping included). Also, I need to fix the 9 to make it more consistent looking (with the other numbers), but w/e. I could probably make the 1s thicker too.
*Edit* Update:

Here's a pretty quick mockup of how H.E.R.O (Atari 2600) would look on the 83+ series.

Very nice. I figured something like that would be an easy addition.

This looks really nice James. Also, is there a option to turn hints off if the player doesn't want them?

It's Dr. Wily's symbol from Mega Man II. It's just been converted to grayscale and resized for the TI-83 family's screen. Then, I scaled it up so I could us it as an avatar.

Hi there neuronix. Welcome to Omnimaga! I changed the topic title to make it more clear and moved the thread to the proper board. Please be mindful of where you post things. Try to put them in the correct board on the forums in the future.

So, what's the story behind all these walrus avatars? o:
Wtf so many walrus avatars
^Pretty much this. It's kind of weird since I tend to associate people with their avatars. Now like 5 or 6 of you guys have nearly the same one. It's like Omni is being taken over by walrus clones.

As far as I can recall no. No one has made such a thing.

Wow, this is... interesting. I also think the redesign looks really nice! The z80 series could use an update. I too am curious about the speed and what's inside though. Maybe a better screen or some sort of graphic processor?

Ah, ok. I was thinking along the lines of if the user didn't have TIMID they could still have sfx (with the proper cable). I'd Imagine a single channel of sfx wouldn't be too difficult. Perhaps the sound engine could be separate from the main program and the user could choose to either have no sound, just sfx (generated by hardware only), or full sound with TIMID. Just thinking hypothetically. Most users won't be using sound anyway, but just a few thoughts there for ya.

I'm glad to see Cemetech hosting a game programing contest that is just that. It's a nice change of pace from the educational software that usually takes precedence. I'm sure there will be tons of interesting entries.

-About twice the speed of the 83+ (6 MHz vs. 12 MHz [Last I checked])
That's not really a fair comparison since they are running entirely different processors.
