I was in Circuit city earlier today looking at the calculators and this happened to catch my eye. Upon closer inspection I found out that this was a fairly expensive calculator that supported CAS... just like the TI-89. However... this thing is a beast compared to the TI-89 . It has 512k user ram and 2MB archive (no big deal here)but, this sucker has an SD card slot . That is crazy. Like the TI-89 Titanium it also has mini usb, but it also has infared data transfer. How cool is that? Also, while the TI-89 has a 12 MHZ motoralla processor this thing packs a 75 MHZ ARM . This thing retails at 150 USD which is also the same as the TI-89 Titanium. This thing is drop dead sexy, so my question is why don't more people own these ? I'm considering getting one myself. Thoughts? *edit* (131x80) b&w display vs. TI-89 (160x100) b&w display. So the display is smaller than the TI-89 but larger than that of the TI-86 (128x64) or the TI-83+family (96x64) *edit*Programability: RPL,IPL,(forms of lisp, whatever that is)Hp BASIC,Saturn ASM(ASM that their older calcs use I believe),ARM ASM. hpgcc.org Yes, it supports C also. Also has a built in clock function with alarms. Can be powered by battery or USB.

That's not bad at all. Most of the ones that I looked at when I went to Best buy(electronics store) were alot more expensive, and I don't think they had any off brands. Where did you get it at?, online or at a store ?

Does anyone here listen to jazz, or know of any really good jazz bands ? I'm always trying to expand my musical intrest, but I don't really know of many jazz artists (no stations play jazz in my area, and I don't know anyone who listens to jazz here) I generally like upbeat stuff, no slow jazz elevator music stuff . Instrumental only is fine too, in fact maybe preferable in this case . Any suggestions ?

I just found out about them. The "of fire" was added on during their most recent album to avoid copyright issues. I've heard that the 2nd or 3rd one is really good and has alot of emphasis on the classical aspect of the music. The one I happend to pick up is their 1st album, "Legendary Tales". I defenitly plan on picking up more of their stuff. Thanks for the info, That'll help me decide on which one to get next.

I know on the old forum some people were interested in power metal and bands like Dragon force and the like, so I though I'd share this new band I came across. The band is called Rhapsody of fire. They are a symphonic metal band and they incorporate alot of elements of classical music into their work. Alot of their lyrics focus on fantasy, and most of the compositon is pretty intricate. If you're into Metal and dont mind alot of instrumental interludes I definitly recommend checking them out .
