Site Feedback and Questions / Invisionfree or Zetaboards?

No problem :). As Kevin stated, it's not perfect, but at least it gives an idea of how Zetaboards can look with skins. I don't think its a bad first attempt either. :)

I realize the similarity, but block dude is kind of boring and well... not really a platformer. :) I didn't mean it to be as one dimensional as block dude either so allow me to elaborate. You would have a limited number of blocks that you can carry in your inventory. It would be used to allow you to take a path full of enemies vs. one full of obstacles one or the other(or possibly even a 1-up that is out of reach) . That's what I was trying to get at.  They could also be used for crossing large chasm,as platforms themselves . IE, you have a large gap to cross so you have to ditch some blocks in favor of others (ones that would span a larger distance). Perhaps the blocks dissappear after a short time period, meaning if you have a large chasm and enimies in the way you will have to move quickly in order to avoid falling to your death. If you don't like the placement of the blocks you can pick them up(provided they are on solid ground) and put them back in your inventory, but that wont reset the amount of time they have left before they dissappear. Blocks can remain in invertory as long as you like and they will not dissappear. Perhaps some blocks could also be used as projectiles to destroy enimies, and they could dissappear upon impact.

Why not have some of the power ups Be some of the other tetris pieces. IE- you have a limited number of blocks you can hold and you can stack the blocks on top of eachother (or side by side) to reach areas that would other wise be inacessable . In some cases you could have two seprate paths... each that would require differnt variety of blocks to get to the said path so that you would have to choose which blocks to take with you depending upon which path you want to take.

Part of the fun will be taking aspects of Tetris and transmorphing them for this game. Disappearing platforms, anyone?
That's the exact kind of thing i was thinking :). Disappearing platforms, Blocks that can fall from the sky and crush you, false platforms that drop out underneath you ect. This definitley has some interesting possibilities.
*edit* This made me remember the episode of captin n the game master when they went to tetris land. ^_^

At the bottom of the page there is a dropdown menu to the right of the text Choose a theme: . The dropdown  can be changed from "Zeta Original" to "test". Test is a test skin that Kevin made that is similar to the one that was on the old omnimaga boards. :)

So let me get this straight... you're making a platform game (IE mario style) using the "L" block from tetris? LMAO, that has to be the most absurd (yet intriguing) idea I have heard in a long time. Defintley looking foward to seeing what type of obstacles and enimies "L" will have to overcome in his(or her?, its?) adventures.

Yea, the test skin isn't too bad. I figured I'd post feedback on it because noone seemed to realize that it was there. It atleast gives an idea of what zetaboards can look like with a skin similar to the old one.

Test Skin looks pretty nice, large text on the main page seems a bit glitchy when you hover over it though. Some of the orange and blue headings (like the one for fast reply) could be chandged out to match skin though. Overall looks very nice though. :)

TI-BASIC / Pic Help

the calculator does not nativley support grayscale, im not sure if there is a program that displays pictures in grayscale or not but if there is it should include a converter. If you just want to do black and white pictures however, ti connect (the software used to send things to your calculator) can convert bmp formatted picture files to black and white that the calculator can use. After searching ticalc.org, here are several progams that display grayscale pictures. The top one has a converter program for windows, and looks to be your best bet. :)

TI Z80 / MTG-like card game
« on: January 09, 2008, 12:09:00 am »
@DJOMNIMAGA; That is my goal, :) I don't want to create a Magic the gathering clone. What  I want to create  is a game that is similar in style  and gameplay to Magic the gathering but is more simplified in order to fit well with the calculator format. IE - Limit to how many monsters on the field, deck size requirement, ect. I do wish to include a variety of cards, but not so many that it takes up way too much space and bogs down the calculator's resources. In short, it will be a portable more simplifed version of Magic the gathering. ^_^

@Nitacku ; Well, first of all Chrono trigger has one of the best video game soundtracks of all time. :) I have to say that although I like this one, I think I like the original one better.
@Kevin ; Have you gotten sony acid yet?, cause it really is a great program.
*Edit*: Regretfully I cannot enjoy the bass on this track to the fullest case I have pretty crappy PC speakers :(

I definitly want to include abilities, otherwise I think it would be boring. I really dont think it'll be to big of a deal to implement though anyways. :)
