If you're buying a new PC waiting isn't an option as the new os is pretty much forced on you. :grr: Unless of course you want to special order one with XP (if the option is avalible) or go out and buy a version of the previous os and have to pay for that and then hope you can find drivers for all your new hardware.... Big companies try to force change wether it is progress or not because they have to distrube their new software and make more $$.

I have a new hp pavillion that we got last week so ill test calc gs on mine and see if i have the same problem that lordofthegeeks did. I'd have to say that i really hate Vista. It's interface is over complicated and alot of the added stuff is really unnessecary. The sheer size of VISTA is XBOX huge, although this IS microsoft we're talking about. Plus it is SLOW compared to XP. XP is definitley my favorite ver. of windows,(in classic mode of course)although Windows NT makes a close second.

QUOTE | For now my biggest hope is that they continue doing POTY. If the first week (or beginning of second) of december they start voting process then there's better sign of life. If they were to not do a 2007 POTY then I would have my awnser

Yes I agree with you completly. They REALLY need to see if they can find some voulenteers to help out at Ticalc. This community is run by the people more so than it ever has been by Texas Instruments and if Ticalc.org died it would be a big blow morally to the community. It is like the last standing behemoth of another time . I remember back when they were well staffed you couldnt go a couple days without some project being announced or some awesome project mysteriously appearing on their front page out of nowhere. There were pretty much updates daily, even if alot of them were poorly written programs with little purpose . The community is still VERY much alive and active but the main outlet for the comminity is dragging its feet and thus the communtiy appears to be less active. Maybe if ticalc had some competiton they would get their act together.

Yea, I'd go with the original 89 myself. Their aren't really any huge advantages with the titanium. Listen to the Ranman !^_^

I didn't see the movie cause i heard it made less sense than the anime ending lol. Ah well I understand what the authour was trying to do with the ending but i wish they hadn't gone that route. It just didnt turn out well and came off as being inconsistent with the rest of the series IMO. I guess it is what it is. Any ho... back on necro topic. You gonna write any more to this?

@ necro, my speaker actually do happen to suck, but I dont think speakers with a larger frequency response would make that much of a difference in this case . It's not that it sounds flat, just that it overtakes everything in the background. If you've ever played the legend of zelda ocarina of time there is kinda of a similar effect used that is not too over stated. IIRC its used in the royal family tomb in kakiriko village. Something like that might work better. *Edit*As an after thought, mabey you could just adjust the volume level of the effect? That might do just as well.

@ Ranman heh titanic... lol, except this one hasn't sunk. I hear the TI edition is doing very well. Et all; I thought the original 89 and the titanium editon ran at the same speed(both 12MHz if i remember correctly) ? does the titanium have a slightly faster processor?

I just got an R4 recently and tried it out. I must say I am very impressed with it personally. Jim E did a real bang-up job on it! Runs at full speed too.

@DJOmnimaga; The blue text isn't really THAT big of a deal. I thinks the change of scenery for the holidays is really nice .
