I'm sure it will be announced shortly when Geekboy has time to tally the votes.

I guess the post here is wrong then. It says the contest's public vote ended at 11:59 AM.

Math and Science / Re: .9 repeating equals 1?« on: December 11, 2013, 02:14:40 pm »
@Shmibs: No, I haven't taken calculus. A decimal can extend as far as it wants in one direction, but that still will not make it equal to one from what I can see.

I know it's in a pretty ugly state right now, but it does look like a good start. Only so many hours in a day ya know.

I've had this argument with a friend. To me, a decimal number is still just that, a decimal. Nothing other than 1 can equal 1. If anything, the proof only suggests to me not that .99999 repeating equals 1, but that instead that the decimal system is a flawed way to represent partial numbers.

Miscellaneous / Re: Willrandship's upcoming 2 Year Absence« on: December 10, 2013, 05:03:18 am »That sucks. I wish you had a bit of free time to get online like Hot Dog at first and Barrett from Calcgames.org a few years ago. Anyway we'll miss you and I hope you return afterward. Also I hope you enjoy your trip. Pretty much agree. I hope you do have time to visit. I'm sure that this will be an interesting experience for you. Also, please be careful and stay safe! 1000

Other / Re: My ultimate emulation PC rig« on: December 07, 2013, 07:44:20 am »This pc was a gift and I just put in some extra ram I had lying around (got that for about €1) and my old gfx card. The snes<>printer port adapter was made out of scrap parts. My television was €12, but I already had that. The lcd came with a €10 Pc deal I got two years ago. This is awesome, and the super nes controller adapter is a nice touch. The Media PC we have in the living room is set up to do emulation as well. I have a Super NES and NES usb controller for it (though they are copies). They are a bit lighter weight than the originals, but they do the job quite decently. I also have an old usb to N64 adapter, so I can use actual N64 controllers. 1002

I'm looking forward to the calc. version. I bought VVVVVV for my 3DS yesterday and I've been addicted to it. I wasn't sure that it would be very engaging at first... boy, was I wrong.

Other / Re: Calc + TV remote = ???« on: December 06, 2013, 09:26:02 am »When I read the title, I expected you to have made a remote out of a calc by creating some sort of plug attachment. But this is cool too. This is what I expected as well. However, I have to say that I was not disappointed. This is quite awesome! 1005
