From the phonetic code I THINK: "Welcome to ZSpeak the totally useless and fairly crappy z80 speech synthesizer"

I would use HxD. It's a free hex editor, just open up the .8xp file, select offset 0x42 (It should be the '\') and set it to 0x54 ('T'). Save the file then just drag and drop it in the emulator.

DJ: To use the .8xp in WabbitEmu (I'm using v1.7.2.11 and the TI84+SE ROM) without recompiling it, open it up in a hex editor and where you see the value:ZSPEAK\T just change the '\' to T so it would be ZSPEAKTT. I also added the TI84+C, you might have to rename it from .8cp (TI Connect v4.0.0.218 works for me with .8cp and it recognizes it as a TIDevice file)

TI Z80 / TI84+C Bundle« on: August 15, 2013, 05:05:46 pm »
I've decided to bundle Tunnel with 2 other games. A demo video on Tunnel (thanks to Hayleia) will be released as soon as I fix a line routine . One other game will be Frogger and the other (oldschool) game will not be mentioned until I put out the demo and I'm confident that it can run at a decent speed and fit with the other 2.

It's an awesome game!
Levak: The flicker is kind of exaggerated in the gif, open it up and check it out on the calc itself! 262
TI Z80 / Creating TI84+C programs with Assembly Studio 8x« on: August 12, 2013, 10:56:00 pm »
I may start a video series on programming the TI84+C. I got a couple of requests to show how I create programs and I created this video. (I also refer them here to find me
![]() It's long but I try to go over everything necessary to get started and I include links to find everything needed. Is anyone interested in it? 263

Very professional, I'll have to mod it a little to get it to work on the 84+C, would you want a copy?
*I added the 84+C. 264
Site Feedback and Questions / Re: General Decrease in Omnimaga Activity - What can we do?« on: August 12, 2013, 06:36:52 pm »
Just some thoughts:
I think that there should be mini-contests going on constantly. There should be incentives for members to program and participate, not money but maybe a link in their profile to their scores or something. Have anyone be a judge and have something like the 'likes' on facebook to help determine scores. Have a sub-forum named Competition or something where anyone can put up there projects to partake in these monthly themed contests using any calc, pc, or device. Have team competitions where 2 or 3 people work on projects together. Have duels where users can vote the programmers to compete. Have trophies given like those for games. Have crazy temporary titles that appear over their real names. Most importantly have awards, categories, and perks like 'newcomer', 'most improved' and other stuff so as to not alienate new members or new/just learning programmers. Give everyone a chance to win at something. If we can encourage new and promote existing programmers/artists/designers/engineers to program/create, *everyone* wins. 265

tr1p1ea: The more colors, the larger the size, but with 3.5MB of Flash you can fit a lot in! As for video, I will try to get something working, just the thought kinda scares me though

I might put out another demo but I am leaving out the 160 mode and keeping it the way it is. I added an optimized drawing routine to draw small sprites like cursors and stuff faster. I'll release the final version soon.

Thanks everyone!
adriweb: It's far from perfect! I need to speed up the ships vertical speed which will slow down the horizontal speed. The speeds aren't balanced right now so you can't make it over/under every slope. The random line drawing needs work as well, sometimes it will start off and you won't have any room for the ship! Streetwalker: That's using 320x240 mode, I'm going to try it out in the 160 mode to see what it's like. DJ Omnimaga: I might put it out as a program, I'm not sure yet. Right now its just a demo, no scores or title and that explosion will be an animation. Hayleia: That's an excellent idea, I will switch it up and see what it's like. This is my first tunnel game and I thought the space was to enable the ship to fit through better. My line drawing routine is really basic and it will squeeze the line so small that the ship won't fit through eventually. I was hoping for a faster speed that would cause the player to mess up. In its present state, it won't happen though. This is just for fun and a test. What I had in mind was a runner game where you ran through a jungle dodging obstacles, Jungle Dash is what I call it. There's snakes, alligators, quicksand, basically like that game for Atari. Judging by this though, I won't be able to pull it off, not with the speed and animation I hoped for. My head has been killing me this weekend so I haven't gotten anything accomplished. I'll add in the suggestions and make another video. I'll make a project page for Jungle Dash if all goes well. 268

I was watching the vid on the DJ's Tunnel game for the HP Prime. That's gangster. There is still time TI, school hasn't started yet, bump up the processor in the +C. Even just 20Mhz would be appreciated. Better yet, switch to an ARM processor. They're fast and cheap....
I'm going to make a tunnel game in assembly on the +C to compare to the Prime. Then I'm going to cry myself to sleep... 270

I got my z8 today! I have to say, its definitely worth $50 for the kit. From the packaging alone you can tell they put a lot of work into it. This thing has about 100 pins sticking out of it and a prototyping area but it looks like surface mount only. I'll get started with it this weekend.
