Axe / Re: Sprite Reducer« on: December 13, 2010, 07:25:53 pm »In a game I'm currently making, I'm looking for an efficient algorithm to reduce a 16x16 sprite to 8x8 without just clustering every 4 pixels together because that looks like crap, It is in 4-level grayscale. does anyone have any help that they could give me for this? Really the only * algorithm* is to take the group of 2x2 pixels and have the number of on pixels corresponding to the shade of grey in your image. This probably is going to make some images blurry tho, so really the best way is to redraw them or ask one of the spriters around omni to redraw it 2255

You should just ask if you can use Quigibo's routine I hear part of assembly is now forcing yourself to write routines you don't need to (then again the other half is writing routines for the same of learning ) either way this is looking really nice and its good to hear about the progress I can't wait to see some ingame screenies ^^

shmibs go ahead I have too many projects anyway And i don't think anybody is saying that peggle *shouldnt* be made in Basic, just that this would be even more epic in asm, since its a bit more suited, i agree. After all, i did make this game and i know a lot of people enjoyed it Its one of the highest rated games over at TiBD ^^ (bet you didn't know they have an archive )
