The Axe Parser Project / Re: Bug Reports« on: August 09, 2010, 12:59:35 am »
I was able to get it with source code unarchived and autobackup turned on unfortunately
EDIT: Hey does that mean that when a sub isnt ever called, it isnt added into the program? 3573

Ah gotcha, thats a the source of a different problem i was having. My executable is larger than 8800 bytes, so i put the currently unused subs at the bottom, but then calling other subs was causing crashes and crazy stuff. I finally tracked down the error yay!

Im having troubles with the new Axe App. It has randomly crashed during compiling (this was after a full RAM clear) twice, and given me a BAD SYMBOL error on the second pass on this line
{L1+12}+8->G At the number 8. These errors are unfortunately infrequent, and im still trying to figure out what is actually causing them. Also, another question, is the order in which subroutines are coded the order in which they are added into the code? Or is it the order in which they are called? 3576
Miscellaneous / Re: Cleverbot!« on: August 08, 2010, 10:59:08 pm »
My theory is that when you message cleverbot, it looks for times when cleverbot asked a *real* person a similar question, and gives you that persons answer. Either that or when you send cleverbot a message, it makes a cleverbot somewhere else in the world say your message, and gives you the persons response.

TI-BASIC / Re: Combining Characters - text sprites« on: August 08, 2010, 03:46:15 pm »
You can use this small java applet that i wrote to find character combinations to generate any pattern you want!
You start the applet and fill in the grid with the pixels you want, then press the search button to search for possible combinations. Possiblee combinations are shown in order of how close they are to your original drawing, but will try to find other combinations that look similar to your specifications too. You can also click the 'shifted' option to switch to duel layer 'offset' sprites. 3580
ASM / Re: OFFBY1« on: August 08, 2010, 03:32:01 pm »
Maybe it could be advanced badness, like if the answer is within -50 to 50, dont do anything because user would notice. If the answer has a decimal part larger than 5 digits, change the 100s place. If the number is larger than 10000, and not a power of 10, mess with the 1's place. Or multiply the answer by 2 or something

[OTcalc] Z80-Software / Re: OT Basic« on: August 08, 2010, 03:26:36 pm »
It needs to be intuitive enough to still be easily usable in class (yes we did actualy write some programs in all of my math classes) and it needs needs neeeds all the advanced trig and statistical functions that the 84 has, if not more. If we are to hope to better TI, we will need to 1up them in every way.

OTcalc / Re: Let's build our own calculator!« on: August 08, 2010, 03:04:32 am »
I like the idea about the power switch, just so we don't have to pull batteries in the event of a crash. I do have a hardware question though, where are we getting the materials such as case, keys, covers, ect... that really need to be custom made for a calculator?

My favorite is C1, it looks nice and clean with no blending, and has no weird outline

I voted for 50 with an option to underclock to 20, its a compromise between the power saving people and the speed junkie people
