Portal X / Re: Portal X

Mmm it seems Portal is on Steam for 20$, i don't know if you can get it for cheaper at a store tho, or what the price is in Canada.

Nah, all you need is the Portal game, which you can buy on Steam for cheap if you want to, and if you have it installed.

Okay, so this is being worked on, slowly but surely.  Portal bumping is halfway done being implemented, functions would have been very useful, but i can see how difficult they would be to implement in axe, so i'm dealing :P The Portal gun has also been shifted successfully to tile based instead of pixel based, so support for multiple tiles is underway ^^  Overall, progress is going good, no bad ram clears have occured, and backups are safe and sound :)  Once i get bumping fully supported i'll post a small screenie to show it off :P

Axe / Re: Moving sprites in a circle

Hiya, and yeah, right now is a pretty busy time in school for me, so activity will probably be pretyt low until AP testing is all finished and my teachers stop giving me all this review homework X.X

As for the rotating sprites, it uses a custom Sin routine that is located both early in the routines section, and at the end of the program.  It inputs a value from 0-63 (0 to 2PI) and outputs the result in 0-10.  Using this sin routine, it is fairly easy to generate a roaring sprite loop, using the sin routine for Y, and offsetting the angle by 90 to change it into a Cos routine (cos(ang) = sin(ang+90)) for X.  Do you want me to go into more detail about the specifics of the code, and how the Sin routine works?

Mmmm thats the one thing i don't like about Chrome, the slow FPS in Gifs.  Needless to say, its epic anyway, and even more so when i load it into Firefox :O

Hey this is pretty nifty!  I might have to make some screenshots of some of my favorite games when i get the time ^^ Its also useful that it can speed up programs as well, it could be useful for playing some basic simulation games or testing out some code at higher speed.

Will adding multiple tile height be very difficult?  That would mean that the ray wouldn't stop at the first tile it reaches, but keeps going until... ?  And would it slow down the engine having to draw multiple scaled textures per column?

Its coming soon-ish.  School has suddenly gone into overdrive with teachers starting to prepare for AP testing, so its been pretty hectic X.X Collision is being worked on tho, as well as an update to gravity :)

I think sprites are higher on the priority list right now, and hopefully those can be implemented with good speed left over o.O
