Axe / Re: How do I make large pictures?« on: October 27, 2011, 06:19:43 pm »
What are you shooting for? A pic the size of the entire screen or something like a 16*16 sprite?
For larger sprites the only way to do it afaict is to put 8*8 sprites together, and for screen-size pics you can use a TIOS pic or get the Hex (tho that's more complicated) 1248

TI Z80 / Re: Zedd Physics Library (BETA)« on: October 26, 2011, 11:03:59 pm »
You know how in BASIC, you can have sub-programs? In Axe, that's possible to an extent, and they're called libraries. The libraries can contain code, sprites, subroutines, whatever just as if it were part of the main program (or in Axe's case, source)
The following is possible and correct: If there's a main program like Code: (main source) [Select] .NAMEHERE ...and another program, also source, likeCode: (PROGRAM:SUBS) [Select] .. Compiling the main source will allow you to use the subroutines in the program named SUBS.Zedd works the same way, they're basically pre-made routines you can call in your source, as long as you have prgmNAME in the main source 1251

Miscellaneous / Re: What is your avatar?« on: October 26, 2011, 08:24:30 pm »
Remember how my previous avatar was like D8L (for DarL181), with the 8 looking like a sort of X? That.
I've been thinking of doing something like this, but it worked better with only one char (imho) so that's how it ended up like. 1253

Haircut time?
Or new glasses... Anyway I've been playing around with mine, and I kind of like how it is now...tho I could prolly make the background better somehow it fits pretty well as-is. 1254
Miscellaneous / Re: PortableApps Platform« on: October 26, 2011, 11:46:57 am »
I use liberkey (it's always worked better for me for some reason) but for me having a portable Firefox has been indispensable, especially with the majority of schools having IE7, Firefox 2 at best.
[offtopic]It's actually kind of funny what some people think is up to date, there was this one kid who was bragging he had IE8 (!) in his house instead of the IE7 that the schools run [/offtopic] Moved to misc discussion, btw. EDIT: ok list thing: • 7-zip • Paint.NET • GIMP • Greenfish Icon Editor Pro ..idk • Firefox • Google Chrome • Free Download Manager //haven't used this too much as of late, prolly don't need anymore • SpeedCrunch //calculator on the computer, never really used • Notepad++ • HxD //hex editor That after narrowing down by just wiping the while thing and only installing stuff I think I would use, rather than delete something like 30 redundant default apps 1255
Axe / Re: AI enemies« on: October 26, 2011, 10:45:44 am »
I've been piecing together a sort of AI for Essence, it's been a while but this has a sort of pseudocode that attempts to direct the AI at the player.
It doesn't have the wandering around/running, just blindly running toward the player, but blarg 1256

Axe / Re: Axe Q&A« on: October 24, 2011, 10:29:01 pm »
L1 in Axe is not a list, it points to a block of data. So, it's a "pointer". That's all the buffers are, spots of memory that tend to be empty, and are safe (for the most part) to use for data storage.
And yes, {L1} can be used as a normal variable, though it will only hold 0-255 if it's one byte. {L1+1} is related to {L1} only that it's the byte immediately following the latter. Hope this helps 1258

If I had my own comp, It would probably look something like this. The background took forever to make
Except it wouldn't be the XP default, it would be something like Zune or Royale Noir. If not something more up-to-date than XP Oh well, ended up temporarily changing the background on the family comp so yeah. (scaled down 50% due to overlarge size) 1259
News / Re: OS 1.03 and PHYSIUM add-in« on: October 23, 2011, 05:33:25 pm »Hmm..They have made a linking program for their calcs, but the Prizm doesn't use it since MSD mode is so much better. I'm guessing the Prizm can handle as a host in the USB connection, what with the data-collecting tools and such. Would a program to use a flash drive be possible? I'm not talking about now, but at some point in the future when we know more about the USB port or something... 1260

Seems to me there's a new font, "Minimini Char", in the test menu that Insight can bring up. Looks like it's the font used in Physium.
