Other Calculators / Re: Your calculator collection

I've seen a few unfortunate 83+es in my algebra ii class...afaict a bunch of pressure is put on she screen or something and the liquid crystal gets out and spreads all over the screen.  Near the middle it looks like a hole, but the rest of the screen somehow works.

On my 84, there's a small blotch on the screen, where the contrast is always a bit darker.  Most noticeable with the screen inverted (like, ClrDraw:DrawInv) and lower-than-normal contrast (where the number in the top-right is about 4), but fortunately no "holes" ;D

Something that could be useful would be the ability to manually backup an archived source.  It gets kind of tiring having to unarchive every time I want to backup (at least, for the on-calc way) :P

EDIT: (quote from zstart thread)
A bug: using the on+enter shortcut to compile disables the auto-backup feature, because

[18:27:38] <thepenguin77> [...] when compiling from the API entry point, the option is changed
Afaik, this would need the entry point to be modified to have another input...
Also having to do with the backup feature, a fix for ^ ;)

What I've done was separate sprites, but I'm pretty sure there's better ways to do it :P

You'll be able to take along weapons in next levels, so if you start at level 1 you would probably have every weapon during level 5. That makes it quite easy. :)
I'd get to the end of the level, take out all the things that drop out the top and the tank, then the program just quits.

How do I get to the other levels?

Speaking of custom titles, how long can they be before they start to get annoying/have a negative impact?

Re-downloaded, works fine now :P
I'm guessing something went wrong with firefox...

What are the controls btw?  I found..
arrow keys=move
2nd=shoot
alpha=chargin mah lazar (or something like that)
del=quit

Is there anything else, or are those it?

* Darl181 envisions ticalc.org archives, directly accessible on-calc
It would need some method to unzip, tho..

Hmm, I ran it using calcutil and got a RAM clear...
What shell is this compiled for?

Hmm, gameplay idea--maybe if you're hit by the block/ball thing while it's moving at high velocity you go boom.  Maybe when they're moving at a slow pace, they bump you around.  How many objects can be out, btw?
* Darl181 predicts a "battlefield" level...and if there isn't going to be one built in then /me pokes to make a level editor
Also, are the closing walls or whatever they are deadly if you find yourself underneath them?

EDIT: the thing that catapults the stuff across the screen--what happens if there isn't bounce paint beneath it?

So I made it copy and such from an external appvar instead of a gdb, then it somehow the front buffer got cleared, tho I spent like 20 minutes reading through the 6-8 lines that take care of that...

I have something in place that works atm, but it seems wherever I use inData it does the same thing (doesn't work).  Just in that one program..
