Hm, reminds me of one those games that would come with these things. Wow flashback (actually I think I might still have it sitting around somewhere) Can't try it atm, how does it play? Smoothly or block-by-block?
smooth. I can do a retro edition if you want?
Nah, it would be kind of pointless to have this giant*, full-color display and treat it like a brick game imo

Hm, well I didn't explicity ask for a new license or for the current one to be deactivated, but hey the other stuff works just as well/better. It broke itself on the other computer anyway so what's to say that wouldn't happen on this one?
I got the same problem when I tried this back in June. Seeing as it's from before 3.x came out (and the CX calcs at that) I'm guessing it's just not compatible..
Re: US, SftInstallUse, TI-Nspire or TI-Nspire CAS Software [REF:71139221003] Show Details Darl,
Thank you for contacting Texas Instruments.
It is unfortunate that you are having difficulties trying to activate your TI-Nspire student software on a second computer. I will be more than happy to answer your questions about the activation process for the software and its license agreement.
The software that comes free with the handheld is designed to be installed and activated on a single computer. Per the license agreement it is not transferable. If you activated it on one computer and wish to have it on a second computer you will need to purchase a new license for that computer. As an alternative you may download and install the free TI-Nspire computer link software. This software allows for transferring of TI-Nspire documents to and from the computer but will not allow you to open and work on the documents on your computer. To download the software please visit the link below.
Alternatively, you may want to use TI-Nspire computer link software. This software is free and allows for communication between the handheld and the computer so that you can transfer documents to and from. To download this free software please visit the link below.

Now, I have my own laptop, and I'm trying to install it on that. I uninstalled the Student Software from the other computer using Uninstall.exe in C:Program Files (x86)TI EducationTI-Nspire Student Software , and it uninstalled successfully.
This is the error message I'm getting now, after I enter in the licence and plug in the calculator (the same one as before) : "The TI-Nspire Handheld ( <product ID here> ) has already been used to install a software licence. [...] contact TI for further assistance."
The calculator is a non-cas CX, and the product ID is 1008000001140F43240D859A795 .
Can this be fixed so I can install the software on my new computer?
So to install it on a new comp you have to buy a new license. Personally I prefer the computer link to the student software (even when I did have it working) because it doesn't take ~3 minutes to start up. Also nspire_emu (or kArmTI) works great for an emulator. Also iirc there's an online thing TI made but idk if it's up/is up to date/still works/etc.
Is it possible to use kArmTI as the emulator? Iirc it's based off of nspire_emu..when I try to launch it windows says it's "stopped working" Not sure if there would be any special instructions or anything..I copied a working setup and renamed "kArmTI_v**.exe" to "nspire_emu.exe" and it still starts up fine when launched directly. The stuff's in C:/Ndless so no spaces in the folder name, not sure what else could be going wrong
