[T]he new software is still not ready to be released.
That's a hilarious understatement.

Installing hooks by writing directly to the relevant memory locations still works, so DCS itself should install a hook to run itself.

On OS 2.43, turn off your calculator, hold 2+8, and then turn it on. That functionality is old news.

Edit: Clearing memory for Signapore/Singapore deletes all applications except the localization applications. (The OS only checks the name, so you could rename MirageOS to Espanol, and it would be kept.)

Wow, they've really managed to make Output slow. I wonder how they managed that?

DJ_O: Like I said, TI probably hasn't gotten the memo on the boot code exploit. If they try to store downgrade protection in the certificate, they'd have to fix the exploit too, or we could simply erase the certificate.

501
DJ_O: Downgrade prevention is impossible now, but TI could release a new boot code with it, storing the downgrade protection information in the certificate. (Invariably, that boot code patch will not fix the exploit BrandonW found.) Of course, old units would be immune, but it would still cause problems for us.

But what about appvars? And I point out that the OS chooses which applications to keep when clearing memory for Signapore (where ever that is) by name. There's nothing to prevent us from renaming MirageOS to Espanol.

503
That won't help. But it might not hurt, either, considering that Brandon got away with Chameleon.

504
There's no need for Ndless. We have the OS signing keys. Furthermore, we can factor any new keys TI decides to use.

505
If the OS has added no additional features, we don't have to worry. Does your teacher now require you use 2.71 specifically? Take up Critor on his offer to release the so-called version 3.0.

It can also happen when sending apps.

Finance isn't an application. It's just another OS menu, like Stats or Math. They put it under Apps because they ran out of keys.

Edit: This thread is moving like an IRC chat. So why doesn't every one go to IRC?

I'd like to run this through a differencing program. You can find me in #ti, and I have spare webspace.

There's no need for him to retouch the photo. It's trivial to write a program that displays whatever you want.
