Looks like something went wrong with our .htaccess file and the redirect for articles wasn't working correctly. I've rectified this, you can now get at articles again here.
All our issues are now publicly available there. Feel free to open new ones, or prod old ones for more information on them. I've only imported the open issues we have and ignored any old history.
So I've been messing around with making an alternative mobile solution to tapatalk. It's completely web based and uses a bunch of web technologies that are fairly new or underused.
It's almost available for a closed alpha, but it's a long way to being ready for public use. I'm going to have to do some better penetration testing on my API server as well as some load testing on the application server before I make it open to an alpha audience.
Currently the only browser that fully supports the javascript features I'm using is Firefox Nightly. I'm expecting Chrome to catch up fairly quickly as the biggest stumbling block is just disabled by default in their beta builds (I haven't had any luck actually getting it enabled though).
Hey everybody, I've been having fun with a new implementation of statsgraph for everybody! Some interesting graphs: Pie char showing user post percentage of the entire sites posts: Bar graph show post/topic counts for different boards: A re-implementation of the original timeline:
Omnimaga is now loading in https by default! Have fun using the site with some added security due to cloudflare's universal SSL If you notice anything failing to load that you think should be loading, let us know with ourl.ca/issue and we'll look into it.
There will be a little bit of downtime tonight as I reboot the VPS and perform some maintenance on the database. I don't expect it to last longer then an hour at most. Keep an eye on twitter or IRC during the downtime for information on if the downtime will take longer then expected or not.
Due to some unforeseen circumstances with our provider. The migration will be delayed until further notice. I am expecting to get a reply from their sales department on Monday and will update everybody on when the migration will take place as soon as I do.
The servers/sites will be read only, and down for an unknown period this Saturday. We will be migrating everything over to new servers. Keep an eye on twitter during this time to know what is happening. The migrations will be staggered so that there will always be IRC access on Omninet. During this time I would suggest using irp.irc.omnimaga.org to keep from having to switch servers when they are brought offline though.
In case you haven't noticed, we've had some unplanned downtime for all of Eeems' domains and for some of the IRC servers. The issue is with the platform that our host is using and they have been looking into the issue since Oct 21, 2014 11:41 AM MST and have been unable to find a solution as of yet. For now IRC has been rerouted to exclude the servers that are down but nothing can be done about the sites that are down. Keep an eye on status.omnimaga.org for updates on the current status, and if you haven't yet, you should follow Omnimaga's twitter account.
