Arch has a large selection of packages in it's repositories, and if it isn't there you can always build from source. So pretty much everything that works on Debian/Ubuntu or Fedora/openSUSE will work on Arch if it is compiled for it. I've been focusing on working on the settings so you can change the interval between checks on PostNotifier.

Tell them to run browsers through this: http://bcheck.scanit.be/bcheck/index.phpIt tests browsers based on a bunch of known exploits and lets you know how secure it is

ctrl-f5 is pretty much like clearing the cache, it refreshes all content on the page instead of just loading from the cache what it can.

I linked people to it in a discussion and I got yelled at for it because of obscene imagery. I got very angry because of this shit people do
EDIT:I still see it when I go there
Try ctrl-f5 it's a hard refresh. Yeah it can be pretty irritating when stuff like that happens

I was browsing some of the paradox lie math equations I enjoy reading about and came upon 1+1+1+1+1=-1/2. Well the article on it has been vandalized to include the image of a naked man. who can fix this and why do you think people do this
Do not go to this if you are somewhere obscene images would get you in trouble. Its not a good thing to see

Emilio Elizalde presents an anecdote on attitudes toward the series: already cleaned up, well I just saw it get cleaned up. People do this because they think it's funny. You know, trolls and such...

Just wondering what the criteria needed to run the OS through LiveCD are, as opposed to running through an emulator such as VMware which does most of the work. I've tried running it on both my desktop and various laptops, but they all seem to be "trapped" in a very quasi-DOS environment, lacking of a GUI. After selecting to run OmnimagaOS at the menu and being taken to the usual loading screen, a DOS EULA followed by black screen is all I am able to view. I am asked and able to login to a text based environment, without even a hint of GNOME (although it seems to be asking me to type something) but that's all. Would this be an xserver fault, or is my hardware unable to support the OS at all.
EDIT: I have been able to run Ubuntu for quite some time, I'm not sure if this is relevant though.
You seem to be using the very first version of it. I would recommend using http://withg.us.to/eeems/omni/myarch-2011.05.29-2-i686.iso instead as it is the most recent version and it is arch based. You are using the first version which was SUSE based and completely unstable.

Good luck! I know the feeling of wanting to fix up your code I usually just start a new project or spend hours trying to fix the code and getting it working again instead of complete re-writes though Lets hope this re-write makes it even better then the last was

....What VM are you using?
Oracle's VirtualBox. OK I hoped, but my dreams have been shattered lol This looks like it should turn out great
Lol, I never set time limits on myself for programming Thanks, I'm expecting it to be pretty great myself

Just include Wabbitemu and a few calc games. It'll take much less space.
haha, I'm going to include wavbit, the user will have to supply roms/content though lol Eeems. I'll expect that this be done when I get back from Louisiana on the 25th. Not to put any pressure on you
lol erm....well you see, I have Diploma Exams in a couple of weeks so I'm pretty sure this wont be done
Dang Well I could hope right. What about by July 10th
I have no set timeframe in mind ATM. It could take weeks, or it could take months. I will be releasing updates along the way though so you can always have the most recent version.

Yeah, better do your own stuff yourself I guess.
yeah Oh well, I got it working great now If you have Gnome 3 installed and want to give it a try ( Keep in mind it might just possible cause gnome to crash, so sorry if it does ) and you are not running in fallback mode extract this to either /usr/share/gnome-shell/extensions/ or ~/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions/ EDIT: here are some screenshots of it in action EDIT2: also, just so you know, you can clear the whole list by right clicking on the PostNotifier thing on the bottom right and clicking remove, I've set it up so that it clears all of them for you Still need to figure out what I should do with open...maybe open them all? This also will notify you on the last ten posts, so if there has been more then 10 posts since it last checked it will not notice unfortunately, if you want to increase the number, or decrease it change the const LIMIT = 10; to some other number

Nope, if you want to release the distro as GPL or something, that or find an open source version of the OCXs or make DJ_O rewrite Illusiat 5/ROL 0.
Yeah, this is going to be GPL so we will have to look I guess. Also finally got this fixed after the issues with the old feed to json site and google ( which stopped updating and just gave me a cache it looks like ) by making my own php script to convert it for me http://omnimaga.org/feedToJson.php which also gives it to me in a smaller size with just the information I want

Ah ok. Also shipping ANIGIF.OCX with OmniOS might not be great idea, since it's proprietary and it costs 45$ to register it.
Yeah, we can't really do that can we

Probably. GNOME games might be already installed by default and Simon Tatham's puzzles doesn't really take much space I think. And you probably need Wine and a couple of PITA-to-install components to run DJ's games. Hm, I'll test.
They aren't actually, they are part of the gnome-extra package, which I do not have installed.

Well, GNOME already comes with some puzzles. Also Simon Tatham's Portable Puzzle Collection is interesting too. And also Minecraft.
I'm thinking that we should probably not package any game other then maybe DJ's to save size, they can be installed afterwords by the user if they want them.
