Miscellaneous / Re: OmnimagaOS« on: May 29, 2011, 07:53:34 pm »Also is it possible to make it say something else than 'myarch' and 'myhost'?Yep, just haven't gotten around to it yet, I'll do it right now though believe me it's super hard to do with gnome 3 Took me forever searching the net before I figured out how to change the default background for stuff.NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooh, when can I Omnimaga-fy the UI?Actually, I've already got that in the works EDIT: And since I found out about how gnome 3 uses javascript for the desktop (attached image) 1924
Miscellaneous / Re: OmnimagaOS« on: May 29, 2011, 05:51:43 pm »Not the dock. The desktop switcher thing at the bottom. That is Gnome 3's fallback EDIT: And I got the login screen to work too 1925
Miscellaneous / Re: OmnimagaOS« on: May 29, 2011, 05:39:35 pm »... and that desktop switcher? How did you did that?gnome-shell-extension-dock I still don't know if I like it 1926

Alright, double post I know
new screenshot of today's build running. I got it to display icons by default now, as well as changed the background in a non-hacky way EDIT: and if anybody notices something strange about this picture compared to the other ones I'll give them a cookie 1928
Miscellaneous / Re: OmnimagaOS« on: May 29, 2011, 03:45:15 pm »i got an error loading gnome 3 under virtual box as well. it looks nice, thoughYeah, VirtualBox can't boot into the full version of Gnome 3 so instead you always go into fallback. Talking about themes, will you also implement a theme looking like the v2, v3 and v4 Omnimaga themes? That would be nice to have as option. I think v2.5 might look too bland, though.I might eventually, I first have to get it to accept my theme as the default Gnome 3 is so under documented.... He told me to use 256mb for memory and other/unknown for OS. I have tweaked that little making more memory but stayed the same on OSand a simple 256mb vdi could also be made (make sure to partition it into linux swap with some other boot disk that has a partitioner (or whatever it's called) so you can use it for swapspace) 1929

Latest build: http://withg.us.to/eeems/omni/myarch-2011.05.29-i686.iso
md5 checksum: 62882ec21ed0cb15451b6954152dd2af This version has little changed other then some backend things you wont be able to see and chatzilla is now installed correctly ( newest version of the package ) which give you an menu option for it, and it actually works now. 1931

Miscellaneous / Re: OmnimagaOS« on: May 28, 2011, 05:28:29 pm »Ipersonally really like XChat.if you are going to boot the iso then the disk size shouldn't be an issue ( I'm going to need to help you make it into swap space eventually though ) I'm having a slight problemmaybe a corrupt download? It works fine on my end. 1934
Miscellaneous / Re: OmnimagaOS« on: May 28, 2011, 05:05:40 pm »Is chatzilla basically the same as XChat? No, it's an IRC client built on the xul framework ( Same thing as Firefox ). http://bit.ly/j0jWkA for a better explanation. 1935
Miscellaneous / Re: OmnimagaOS« on: May 28, 2011, 04:44:16 pm »Its a lot bigger now Eeems. I'll be trying it out soonYep, after adding X and Gnome it gained a lot of weight. http://withg.us.to/eeems/omni/myarch-2011.05.28-i686.iso is currently being uploaded. It contains compat-wireless-patched from the AUR and I have also included chatzilla as a package now. I'm going to probably make it so chatzilla shows up in the main menu as well later. After I fix the current package. I forgot to add a modification to chatzilla atm, so to get it to run you need to edit /opt/xulrunner/chatzilla/application.ini so that the max version is 2.* instead of 1.9.* and then it will work. EDIT: uploaded fixed chatzilla package. |
