I noticed that my sent PMs were not being saved. Turns out this option is disabled by default. I'm not sure what the reasoning behind this is (might just have been an oversight) but it sure as hell is annoying to not be able to review your sent PMs after you send them, so I'd like to suggest this option to be turned back on by default.
This was an oversight. I've enabled it by default on the current theme.

Due to some unforeseen circumstances with our provider. The migration will be delayed until further notice. I am expecting to get a reply from their sales department on Monday and will update everybody on when the migration will take place as soon as I do.

Yes and no. Yes I could go through their code and figure out how to disable it (since there is no setting for it). No I wont spend the time doing that because I have a lot more important things to deal with (like migration, backend services, my job etc) right now. I also don't want to modify too many things from their main codebase to make upgrading easy. We already have too much custom code that we have to manually deal with right now.

What is the current platform and what is the new one? By the way will you get better technical specs like extra disk space, RAM and bandwidth?
We are just switching from their old internal platform (third party) to their new in house solution. I'm not sure on the specifics for resources (I haven't talked to their sales team yet) but I don't expect it to change. We currently have a lot of bandwidth and pretty good RAM/CPU specs. Our disk space is smaller then I'd like, but the disk speed (SSD) makes up for it. I also take steps to keep resource consumption (bandwidth/cpu/ram/disk) to a minimum where possible. Even though we have enough to spare, I'd rather keep as much extra unused so that we have a lot of breathing room if something happens. EDIT: testing edit notifications. Ignore

Oooh, new servers. Where are you guys going?
Just migrating platforms inside the same host. The current platform is rather unstable and they have recommended that we migrate off of it.

The servers/sites will be read only, and down for an unknown period this Saturday. We will be migrating everything over to new servers. Keep an eye on twitter during this time to know what is happening. The migrations will be staggered so that there will always be IRC access on Omninet. During this time I would suggest using irp.irc.omnimaga.org to keep from having to switch servers when they are brought offline though.

Ah sorry to hear. Does it break GIFs that are not resized or does it break all of them? That said, I seriously would hope that no one here would post a 1920x1080 gif of their desktop, especially not an animated one
It breaks them all. They wouldn't be able to upload a GIF that large due to file size constraints on attachments.

Is there a SMF mod that auto resizes large images so that they fit in their post?
Although IMHO I encourage people to manually resize them in an editor before posting them or just put a link to it. Unlike myself, certain members have bandwidth caps.
Yes and no, You can automatically resize attachments, but that breaks gifs.

I would like to remind people to limit the width of their images on this thread. Eg:

@eeems you know how DJ likes to exaggerate a bit such as saying I vanish for 3 months every year because I'm playing KSP. Wait, is that even an exaggeration?
Just because someone likes to exaggerate doesn't make it okay when what they are exaggerating on is calling into question the ability of others to properly do what they are suppose to do, which is what his statements are doing.

I think in one or two cases I didn't use the report form (I think it was because I was worried about spamming the report form for the same issue over and over) so that would probably be 4 or 5 times at least. I was skeptical since each time it never seemed to get fixed until after I complained about the issue.
That's probably because you were the only one who noticed it yet. I've fixed it myself when I've noticed multiple times.

I think he's more talking about how random some of the stuff can be in this topic or IRC.
I'm being facetious ;P

You know, sometimes I go through here just to think to myself, "What the hell am I reading?"
Words I hope.
