So you can't have a screen with some bot running? :(
You could, but it would disconnect as soon as you stopped using it.
They do not intend to allow you guys to use them as hosting, just for a development platform.

Well, it is connected to the internet as i was able to ping google, so i bet you'd be able to run a web-server on it :P
It already has one running
The thing is, does it run 24/7 and do they allow big bandwidth ? :P
Also build chroot yourself. >:D

They run 24/7, although when it's overloaded you sometimes can't access your VM.
Not quite true. The servers run 24/7 but they spin down your VM when you aren't connected.

Random question - I recently switched to Chrome because of an annoying problem, but kinda wanna switch back to Firefox.

The problem? Whenever I switch WiFi networks, everything logs out for no apparent reason. Yeah, it's "more secure", but it's really annoying, especially if it's just a switch between the same network. Is there a setting that can be changed to prevent this? This behavior does not happen in Chrome.
I've never had this happen. Did you google it to see if other people have the same issue?

Firefox had some issues with some html5 music players for me so I switched to chrome. I just stuck with it.
It's not that firefox has issues with them, it's that they weren't using things supported by Fx.

Well, I would go for mySQL as it is easy to implement with PHP and mySQL is fun.

But then again, i wrote for withg a blog which uses system-msg as a backend which uses markdown, it can be found here: http://withg.org/blog/
Well, system-msg already stored to flat files, you just wrote a web interface for it instead of using it as a backend.

I'm not sure there is really a good way to support files that are just links to other places in calcpkg anyway, unfortunately. :/

It might be a good idea actually. Btw nice to see you again :D

Hello! Yep, I do still exist in some capacity, despite the best efforts of university and other irritating real life time commitments.
I handle the links for you.

Also I wonder, since OIRC3 is gonna replace OmnomIRC v2 after the upgrade, does it mean that all your work will be scrapped? D: Maybe it might be a good idea eventually to release a copy of v2 in the Omni archives and the SMF site.
It's all on github already.

Ok phew I was a little worried lol.

Btw, I notice that there are more and more pages being made that are separate from the Omni website. Will those eventually be integrated when the site is upgraded? It would suck if those pages were not easily accessible from the main site D:
Yes

A little bug report: I think that for files which used to be direct downloads, if they were later replaced by an URL (such as a forum attachment or ticalc.org page), on your page the original download will still be shown instead of the URL. For example,
http://www.omnimaga.org/index.php?action=downloads;sa=view;down=847 (redirects to forum attachment)
http://www.omnimaga.org/files/User-Contributed-Calculator-Games-amp-Development-Tools/TI-84-Plus-C-Color-Edition/ (shows the last file uploaded before the switch to URL upload)

In addition to that, the file will be 0 byte and not work.  I had the same issue happening with the Doors CS 7 link (showing an old copy of DCS 6.2) and the CSE "Zelda" game.
I'll have to delete the file then. This isn't a bug with my software, it's a data issue.

hey, could you list the commands for bots as well?
like @calc [insert command here]
The bots are not part of OmnomIRC.
You'd have to ask the bot owners to make their own topic listing the commands. Of which I think there are already a couple.
