Web Programming and Design / Re: Prefered Browser« on: February 05, 2014, 09:10:46 am »I personally always was confused and had troubles setting up external mail clients for some reasons. With Gmail you just type an e-mail and password and you're set. With Outlook and that stuff there is always plenty of other confusing options if you are not familiar with weird vocabulary like POP/IMAP.Thunderbird makes connecting to your gmail account easy 798

I stick with Fx nightly. I have to use IE8 and Chrome at work though for development reasons.
The startup speed issue is because you are running it on windows. I just start up Fx once, and never close it though, so startup is not an issue for me.Firefox. I used Firefox first, then switched to Chrome at about Firefox 3.0-4.0 because of memory issues, but Firefox caught up and it has better extensions.Actually my main issues with Firefox were around version 1.05 to 3.0. That's when it started becoming unstable and crashing every 30 sec or so, then it got better (although I still had the 30 second freeze on 404 links occur until a few years ago). Nowadays it seems stable enough for my likings, but by the time Firefox finally starts up, I have time to start Opera and Chrome simultaneously three times in a row. So many chrome users hereFx nightly https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Tools/Shader_Editor https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Tools I've been using opera since I got my own laptop at age 10 or something. (Now opera 12.16 cause on linux)Except for the places where the webkit/blink engine have bugs with conforming to standards. As a developer, I've run into quite a few instances where Fx supports something properly and everything else balks. Or where Webkit is the only thing that doesn't like it. Please add Chromium to the list because saying that I use Google Chrome would be saying that I'm using Google proprietary code, and that is not happening.Done, although there was already an other on the list. 802
News / Re: Magical equine creatures invades Omnimaga« on: February 03, 2014, 08:18:14 pm »
There is a very vocal sub-group of the members that love ponies. A couple are staff. Most of us either don't care or dislike/despise the whole MLP thing. Omnimaga is a very tolerable place though, so as long as you follow the rules and are nice there will be no problems.
PS typing on my TV is slow 803
Site Feedback and Questions / Re: Bug with bans« on: February 02, 2014, 08:57:43 pm »A week ago, I was banned, while I was using Chrome. Now, even when I can post on other browsers, I can't do so on Chrome. Please fix the bug in which after getting banned, being able to visit the site after the ban is lifted is possible without clearing cookies. If you have found an issue with the site please record it with http://ourl.ca/issue More information will be required then just you are unable to post with chrome. Its most likely that Chrome is caching things that it shouldn't again and in that case there is nothing we can do. 804

We had a user who joined IRC looking for this bot. You should get it live again 805
Web Programming and Design / Re: withgusto Networks - Status Updates and Discussion« on: January 29, 2014, 09:45:09 am »Did you or albert ever move it, or is the IRCD still in my home dir? Cause I just left it there when I set it up oh so long ago and last time I checked it was still there Probably not the best place to store that I feel though, especially since I don't exactly manage it anymore./home/ircd now. I've revamped omninet. If you connect you'll notice you no longer have oper and there are a lot more servers ;P 806
Web Programming and Design / Re: withgusto Networks - Status Updates and Discussion« on: January 29, 2014, 12:25:49 am »The global data freeze is now in effect - you will no longer be able to log in. You can still SFTP data back and forth, but we recommend not changing any data on the server, as it could mess up the data backup and result in your data being lost! (After the data backup is finished, we will NOT copy changes you make to the new server, even when unlocked! It is now YOUR responsibility to make a backup of any changes!)I'm going to need access to the IRC server at some point, so that when Juju moves it we can move the config file. 807

Site Feedback and Questions / Re: Signatures & ponies« on: January 27, 2014, 11:37:46 am »May I point you to http://www.omnimaga.org/index.php?action=ezportal;sa=page;p=2 and strongly remind you that we will enforce them.Even if I'm not fine yet with some people's signature showing their wild immaturity, I'm fine with this option.Maybe you should be a little less rude about how you word that? Some of the members may take offence with you calling them wildly immature. Putting it in your signature is not considered spamming, if they were to fill their signature with dozens of images then that would be spamming. So far all I've seen is one image in their signature and their avatar. Which is not spamming. While you may find it annoying you still do not have the right to be rude or provocative to members of this site. If you have complaints about specific individuals then submit an issue on http://ourl.ca/issue and if you have a request about our policy or changing how the site works use http://ourl.ca/request 809
Site Feedback and Questions / Re: eMail notifications« on: January 27, 2014, 11:31:36 am »
The email functionality is built into SMF and we are not going to go in an change things right now. The emails also currently contain the total information they need, including a link to the reply, a link to unsubscribe and the text in the reply.
What you could do if you don't like how it looks is set up an account on IFTTT.com and have it handle the forwarding. You can control the contents of the text with that to only receive the subject line. EDIT: Also, for future requests on the site, please use http://ourl.ca/request 810
Site Feedback and Questions / Re: Signatures & ponies« on: January 27, 2014, 11:21:38 am »There is currently a size restriction. When we notice someone with a signature that is too large we ask them to resize it. If it is still too big we resize it for them. Even if I'm not fine yet with some people's signature showing their wild immaturity, I'm fine with this option.Maybe you should be a little less rude about how you word that?
