Humour and Jokes / Re: Admins change font - why did this happen?
« on: December 04, 2013, 03:55:57 pm »
Now almost everything is twice as large, bold and a really ugly font..
I disabled caching completely and did a full reload.
Reverted the size increase.... people were complaining that it was too small, now it's too big. Nobody is ever happy.

Opera 12.16 on openSUSE 12.3 x86_64.
Or could it just be that Firasans looks almost exactly like DroidSans (including the kerning and other letter spacing issues)?
It could just be that Opera doesn't like fonts. You'd have to look at what font is actually being used in the debug tools.

I actually like the appearance. I don't have FiraSans on my laptop, but it seems to fallback to droidsans, which I like even more!
But the kerning looks awful..
FiraSans should be downloaded by your browser and then use that. What browser are you using?

News / Re: In memory of Tribal (1992-2013)
« on: October 23, 2013, 01:46:17 am »
We will all sorely miss Tribal. There is little I can bring myself to say. I don't know what to say in this moment. All I can say is if anyone else feels they need to talk I know I am personally available. If anybody needs to rant at someone about anything. See if I'm on IRC and if I'm not there, just send me an email at [email protected] or PM me on the forums. I'll get back to you as soon as I can. I'm here to help any way I can.

Ah, they're collapsed now.. Really liking the part where it's clear that clicking on the servers will do something :P
I'll make it a little more visible that you have to click on the logs etc. Also http://ourl.ca/logs and http://ourl.ca/logs/today

Site Feedback and Questions / Re: Transparency regarding donations
« on: October 21, 2013, 01:33:02 pm »
Currently donation money is going towards supporting the contest. When the contest is done I will start drawing on it to recoup server costs ($24USD/month).

News / Re: Scheduled downtime (again)

The only major problem we encountered so far I think is the compatibility issue with the negative topic/post IDs (what seems to cause the postcount and topic sorting to be messed up).
Well that is because SMF was not designed to have negative topic/post ID's. It's always been a problem, it's just not been as apparent until we moved to a new database and SMF is starting to complain more.

This is the downtime report for last month. I think with the move etc we did pretty good :)

Also I seriously doubt that even for an unscheduled downtime that a provider would give back money unless you asked them, unless it lasted more than 3-4 hours or so. I'm betting that if someone's site goes offline for 10 minutes at 5 AM and no one notices (by visiting the site or via any logs), the company will most likely not bother, since they are all there to make money. Unless Ubiquity is more honest than usual.
SLA requires them to if it's unscheduled and not emergency. Ubiquityhosting is very good about honouring their SLA.

Hm, another downtime :(

But don't you *at least* get your money back with that provider?
This is scheduled downtime. No provider gives money back for scheduled downtime.
