I would like to see a solid API for ndless 3.1 before it's released... (I'm working on porting SDL, and possibly a GUI library to the Ndless platform for potential inclusion)
I'm fine with a release without one, especially with the potential on the CX
A port of SDL doesn't necessarily have to be integrated to Ndless, you could release it as an independent static library.

Just to be sure, does this have anything to do with Ndless?

(*): embedding the boot2 decryption code into the emulator is not possible: circumventing protection measures would easily fall under the DMCA, and this time, TI would have a better case than they did for the signing key fiasco.
Would it be more than a few calls to OpenSSL functions?

Anyway don't forget that any idea you may give to a a company like TI may be copyrighted, locked, patented, billed, ... A community SDK would be much better, and not so difficult to build.

I've been doing this sort of things for 13 years, a bad habit hard to get rid of

Try third party libraries such as OpenNLP (unfortunately in Java). It may do the whole parsing job but it should really help you with the initial language parsing.

Programs shouldn't need to be recompiled (at least for non-CX calculators).

BrownyTCat, why don't you ask TI for it?
Because they won't let anyone have it. They took it off the site and the only way to send ANYTHING now is to buy student software, which doesn't make any sense.
Did you really try to ask them? The last TI-Nspire sold without Student Software license are not that old, they can't leave so many users without linking software.

But setting up the clock after each reboot would be a pain for the user.

Nice bsl, what was then wrong with the previous routines used to write to the NAND? But you could soon be able to patch your ClickPad/TouchPad Boot2 or replace it totally by a 3rd party Boot2...
Well, today we can't sign 3rd party boot2.

Luna is open source and may help. I had to patch the minizip library to make it compatible with the format, the changelog is provided at the beginning of the source file.
