Casio Calculators / Re: Casio Prizm documentation
« on: January 28, 2011, 04:45:32 pm »
I've hit a slight roadblock in the USB protocol process...

Edit: I found a program that read some info on the Prizm over usb, but I'm not sure if the data I've got is what you need.
Should I post it, or email it or what?

Axe / Re: How do I use calcnet for Axe?

I guess I was wrong. Aside from that, I'm unsure of the problem.

I wrote a little sample code to show how to use CALCnet2.2 in Axe. The code assigns a player index to your calculator, occassionally broadcasts that index to others, and takes recieved player indices and stores their 5-byte addresses in memory:
<codebox omitted>

This crashes for me. Yes, I remembered to call the "stop CALCnet" opcode. Have you tested this? I'm not sure whether to trust my hardware anymore.
Are you using the newest versions of Axe? The older versions stores variables in the location where CALCnet expects its data to be.

0.4.8. It just up and RAM clears whenever I try to call any of those opcodes.

DCS 7 Beta 1.
That might be your problem.
DCS 7.1 Beta 2 was the first version to have Calcnet implemented in it if I'm not mistaken.

You could use Doors or another ASM lib to delete the programs.

My computer absolutely refuses to let me install Linux of any kind or even allow VirtualBox to run  :P

I've asked FinaleTI to try it out, so expect a message from him.

EDIT: Z80man, did you ever find the location of the screen, because I can shotgun my RAM to find it if you haven't.
I'm downloading the iso for Ubuntu 10.10 as we speak so that I can set up Virtualbox.

Just tried it on hardware, and it's pretty awesome.
It still seems to glitch when you die.
I died, then checked my stats, and they were the 'New Game' stats, but my name was blank. Talking to Kinley brought up the healing screen, then I was thrown into a glitched battle, were the whole screen was glitched. Running away threw me into a glitch map, upon which I quit.
I just tried it again, and the stat, and item reset occurred, as well as the blank name, but I didn't encounter the glitched battle or map.

Nostalgia / Re: Nostalgia - An Axe RPG
« on: January 26, 2011, 09:23:25 am »
I see, well I'm glad it's still alive and you're working on other projects too. :)

Working on two projects at once can be very bad, too, because of those nasty mem clears+archive corruptions caused by running a buggy version of one project then running the other before resetting your RAM...
That's true, but I don't think that will happen as The Storm is a BASIC competition, but when I pick this up again, I'll be sure to back up as often as possible.

I was wondering what those who read the Flashbook I posted thought of the story so far. I know I'm not the best writer, but I'd like some feedback if anyone has any.

I apologize for the lack of updates on this, but I've been busy with my entry for The Storm.
After that, I'll work some more on this, but as of right now, I can really only work on the story without getting too distracted.

Basically it's kinda like how FinaleTI had two Nostalgia games, one for the (now defunct?) RPG  Cage Match and the other in Axe.

Can't wait for screenshots Ashbad :D

So Pyrix was related to Trio and Niko?
I dunno about the other match, as Raylin said it would happen after The Storm, but if nothing related to that happens by sometime in February, I'll pick up Sky's Story regardless.

On a more-related note, can't wait to see this Ashbad. I know you'll provide some good competition in The Storm, along with all the other competitors.

Anyway looks nice FinaleTI, do you think you'll be able to make it run faster eventually? (character drawing)

I did manage to make it faster. ;)
Now instead of erasing the whole space, it only erases the areas that need to be white, then it draws the black.

Pics are 786 bytes per screen. My test map, which fills four screens is around 500 bytes.
Pics are 779 bytes with the last row and 767 bytes without it.
