No. I'm not sure how you would want such a routine to work, but no, it does not exist. If you have stuff to do in the background while GetKey is running, you can use a cursor hook, GetKey hook, or silent link hook, as appropriate.

Somebody made a "Guitar Hero" type game a while back (with, if I remember correctly, 2-bit sound), so it's not out of the question to do sound and other stuff at the same time. It's not easy, but it can be done. http://ourl.ca/3610

Yeah, that's a somewhat surprising behavior for 16-bit adds, which has tripped me up more than once (and heck, I've written a Z80 emulator.) So yeah, a 16-bit 'sbc' (with carry flag clear) followed by an 'add' really is, in essence, a 16-bit compare. (Notice that the add will carry if and only if the sbc did.) 8080 compatibility for... the win, in this case.

No, you would not use JForceCmdNoChar to end a hook. Hooks use 'ret' to return to the routine where they were called.

Yes, you can, there shouldn't be any problem with that. Of course, you do have to keep in mind what registers and RAM areas might be used by those B_CALLs (e.g., you can't go calling ParseInp within a font hook.)

Well, I disassembled it using a disassembler I wrote myself (called 'sdasm'; I've been working on it for years and it never gets any closer to being stable; and I've been reluctant to release it because while it's quite powerful, it's also rather difficult to use.) There are plenty of other disassemblers out there.

(actually, the "-k 0104.key -t 8xk" is unnecessary)
In this case, you want -r, not -f (rabbitsign is complaining because there's a lot of empty space after the end of the app, probably because you transferred it from the calculator, and it didn't have a correctly formed signature to begin with.)

Jim e wrote a program called "Real Sound" that packs a sound file into a Flash app. The app will, of course, be huge for a song of any length, but it does work pretty well.
(I think it's one of those programs that relies on the extra RAM, so it won't work on recently-manufactured 84+es.)

Well, in theory you could install a hook to disable silent linking completely (or to try to auto-detect whether you have headphones plugged in) but it would still be draining the calculator's batteries. I'd say just unplug the headphones when you're not using them.

Hooks are, indeed, designed to be run from apps. That's why you have to pass the page number to the hook enable routine: the page gets saved along with the address of the hook.
Storing your hook in appBackUpScreen is not a great idea - assuming the idea is to leave the hook installed after your program exits - because other programs will overwrite that area. Really, the only way to keep a hook installed permanently is for your program to be a Flash app.

It will use whichever key is specified by the app header (which is 0104 unless you're doing something unusual.)
Is rabbitsign.exe in the same folder with the batch file? What happens if you just run rabbitsign itself?
