You can also reach the statVars safe ram through iy.
I saw now it is one of free ram used by Axe Parser. You could instead use statVars+2 for the pointer.

Maybe someone wants to do or use Axe Parser program as an assembly lib. We need to add to the documentation what safe rams are used by xLib and CelticIII if they are used too...

WOW, even better would be to be possible making graphics on tv other than 96x64...

I saw a calculator with the odd cable next to the usb one in my school. What is it?

I can't think of any reason why you'd need to directly write to flash from a user program...
Only an OS should need to do that, in which case you don't need to bother with a hack, since it's your OS.
The only reason for which it could be needed is if you need to create an app directly on-calc. But to do that, you'd have to mess w/the certificate too, and that is just a very bad idea.
Anybody have a better guess?
Flash unlocking is unusual unless you are writing an OS or patching something.
But he might want only to experiment something, nothing more.

I personally do not like when people say things like "why do you need that?" or "why do you want to do that?" when someone asks for a routine or programming help, because it sounds like it implies any use of it would be pointless or that his idea makes no sense or something, while in fact, the programmer may have something special in mind. Why prevent someone from doing something he wants?
You are right. But sometimes asking why can help can be to give better help or support, not this case, though.
calcdude84se is intrigued and maybe curious. I am curious, too, but I will simply wait for SirCmpwn. :P

The Axe Parser Project / Re: Features Wishlist

Flags support in Axe Parser could bring advantages in any circumstance? In assembly the use of iy is expensive, so I doubt it is advantageous.

I wish we had a small font TI-BASIC editor on calculator...

Axe Parser syntax takes some time to get used too because of using the TI-BASIC tokens and tokens are not always very descriptive. I imagine it is getting harder to choose the tokens.

Yes, I do use that flag.  That must be it.  Are there any flags that MOS doesn't use that I can steal?
Maybe asm_Flag2 or asm_Flag3?
Have you fixed this? Not many assembly programs use asm_Flag2 and asm_Flag3, I think.
You can also reach the statVars safe ram through iy.

This has been questioned and answered in some UTI topics. mapar007 should have one routine for that and calcmaniac84 probably will (for his TI-Boy SE).

I know he can not visit the TI forums but we can save the pages and send to him. Or see WikiTI ports documentation, I have saw there code to unlock flash.
And Brandon Wilson has the most up to date method to unlock flash (if there is some bcall we can use or details in the instructions to unlock flash) and even knows details in the emulated TI-84+ SE in a Nspire unlock flash.

With a contest we can have even more visits...

I was going to ask about a contest after I saw in the stats the contest thread views.
If someone wants a mini-contest, I had a idea of a screen saver (TI-BASIC) for the calculator and I have the requirements of the program well though.

Funny. ;D
But there are some people that live just of receiving money of Google in advertisement. They make a site, usually blogs, about cellphone reviews and stuff like that.

Very happy news to ticalc archives. Will the links from the news and feature be given again?
And about the crappy programs, some possibilities are remake them, upload all as in a single zip for nostalgia reasons (in ticalc there already exist zip archives with a mess of old programs) or leave them RIP.

I took a bit too to discover who was Kevin Oullet. I think I got the relation in a Metroid game along with CDI.

Other Calculators / Re: TI-Nspire OS 2.0 update scam e-mails
« on: May 12, 2010, 01:22:23 pm »
Also the TI-Nspire isn't too easy to use IMHO. Even the 89 was easier I think. That is enough to scare away people.

That said I wonder what will happen when (or if?) Ndless comes out for newer OSes to the sales. I wouldn't be surprised if they skyrocketed when other students saw their friends play ASM games on their Nspires.
Yes, the Nspire keyboad is full of buttons and each key has 3 different uses. It is hard to know all the menus and navigate between them. z80 series does not have a excellent GUI but is simplistic and easily memorize the menus with time.

It will not be a surprise to 3rd party software in Nspire make it sold like crazy in the next year. Probably many people are waiting for it. And the graphics in the Nspire will surprise much more students than the z80 ones.

Sometimes those plays of words can be intentional. It is probably coincidence but may not be. It is far more common in literature than in games. I still bet that some of the plays with words found and interpreted by specialists in literature were not intention of the writer. :P

On a unrelated note I think I have seen "Seitan" in romaji or other kind of "latin translation" from a character of Japanese manga. I remember thinking it was curiously close to "Satã" (Satan).

I think I found a bug:
Some objects fall out of the screen with gravity 4, friction 2 and 100 objects after playing a bit.
I can't repeat but first I tried a massive number of objects, stopped the script in Firefox changed the settings and after playing a bit some objects exit start to exit the screen.

Good work. ;)
You made me remember that there many other notable programs and experiments. When it occurs again to me, I will look to add more and complete the information. Maybe even add a brief description for each one and clean up a bit the visual.
