Miscellaneous / Re: Hurricane Irene« on: August 29, 2011, 11:32:39 am »
I think the reason it got so much coverage was because that high up the coast never gets Hurricanes. Also it was predicted to be a category 3 around the Delmarva area. (Delmarva = Delaware, Maryland, Virginia for those that don't know) But it dropped to a category 1 after it hit North Carolina.
Where I live it knocked down a lot of trees and we were without power from 2:45 AM that night to this morning around 8:00 AM. 1551

TI-Nspire / [Lua] Assault« on: August 24, 2011, 11:23:17 pm »
Assault is a strategy-card game I am working on as my first Lua game. (Actually one of my first games period)
It's basically a combination between card games, chess, and shogi. So far I only have the main menu and the card selection screen coded. I still have to code the placement of your cards as well as the game itself. But here's some screenshots. And here's the source code so far http://pastebin.com/mfxBq7Aq -The basic gameplay of this game is there are three kinds of cards, your attack cards, your walls, and your base. -You use your attack cards to punch through enemy lines, breach the enemy walls and destroy their base. If your base is destroyed, you lose. -You gain money by defeating enemies and you can purchase more attack cards or walls. -Cards are placed on a grid and attack cards can move one space in any of eight directions. Walls and bases are static. Any ideas for this game? If you wish to help with making this, please feel free to ask. Any help is greatly appreciated. 1554

Lua / Re: Lua Q&A« on: August 23, 2011, 09:40:42 pm »
Is there a way in lua to create an object and create multiple instances of it? I've read that there's no class feature so I'm wondering if there's a way to do this.

A call just came for us that there's a 1/10 chance an aftershock "similar in strength" may occur by 2 pm tomorrow.
I hope we hit that 9/10 chance it doesn't. 1557

I felt it. At first I thought it was something at the military base I live close to. (APG does a lot of artillery testing and so forth)

Lua / Re: Lua Q&A« on: August 23, 2011, 12:13:44 pm »
Thanks Levak. I changed it to
Code: [Select] function on.backspaceKey() And it works perfectly. 1559
Lua / Re: Lua Q&A« on: August 23, 2011, 11:37:02 am »
Thanks, it seems as though deleteKey doesn't work. enterKey did though.
Is there a way to just delete the last character in a string? 1560
Lua / Re: Lua Q&A« on: August 23, 2011, 11:26:17 am »
Didn't work. It's as though it's not calling the function in the first place.
