3345: You use a variation of "Omnimaga" for one of your passwords

3346: It's not your omnimaga password

3347: You program even in your college calculus II course (True story, just started playing with Casio Basic today)

3348: Your first program (after "Hello World", of course) is a getkey program so you can start making games

3349: After that, you start on an RPG

13. FFV It's difficult to get 100% of all chests because at some points you are on a close time limit to leave an area and quite a few chests are only available for that time.

Other / Need help finding new graphics card
« on: September 03, 2012, 04:52:48 pm »
I've more or less come to the conclusion that the reason for my computer troubles here is because my graphics card has died. So that leaves me looking for an adequate replacement. I've never looked for replacement graphics cards, however, so I have no idea what I'm looking for. Some of my computer specs:

Motherboard: P5BW-LA (Basswood3G) (DDR2 memory and 1 PCI Express x16 slot)

Nvidia GeForce 7350 LE

240v PSU

I'm looking for a cheap replacement at least as powerful, if not a bit more so, than my current card. I'm willing to upgrade the PSU if necessary, but I don't want to spend much more over $100.

What is out there that is compatible?

Thanks.

Edit: This is my comp http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c01070924&lc=en&dlc=en&cc=us&lang=en&product=3440615#N77

Hmm. Maybe a simulation game? That could be interesting.

I also like ideas like RedCode. "Programming game" games

Computer Programming / Re: Re: How do you make games with coding???

Something I've always found with games, is that you can split them into three main parts. Input, processing, output.

For something like having a picture collide with another, you'd do as what was said earlier and store the coordinate data and use them during processing. You'd store the picture in an object and you'd use a reference to that object, basically variables. What that object is depends on the library you use or a class you write yourself.

Edit: Using tapatalk, didn't realize this was an old thread :P My apologies.

I think I'll just get it fixed. All the bot could do is determine if it's booting up to windows and if it's a virus. Personally I think my video card might have died, it's kinda old and was dusty when I took it out to reseat it.

That would work. I'd just need to get lucky and manage to get past the login page. Good thing I don't have a password for mine, lol.

If anything, I know a place where I can get this fixed for free if need be. So it shouldn't take too much to solve this hopefully.

I've largely determined that BIOS is not the problem. I'm going to try reseating everything to try and get it to work. If that doesn't solve it I'll have to send it in for repairs..

On the bright side, I discovered that my case has enough room to hold a larger graphics card than I have now :D

A rather nice silver lining...

My computer is having issues with the screen, so I was unable to finish the project..

That said, I wouldn't worry if some of these contests only have a single entry. I think their purpose is to bring some interest to computer development which it certainly has done ;)
