I think the way to go is basic to xbasic(xlib+basic) and then go to ASM. Cause from my own experience trying to go from basic to ASM was bad because I had no idea what sprites were why you need them and why I couldn't just use lines to display my stuff, but after doing xbasic for quite a while I understand it more while moving to ASM. I have also took the time out to look at some books on hex and binary and that has helped me with my transition also. That's just the way I think a person should go.

I need help setting up a working environment for my Assembly programming on the 83/84+ family. I have the includes, TASM, and I have read the tutorials on how to do it but I can never get it to compile the programs correctly without TASM giving me an error even when I include ti83plus.inc

Netham45 sorry if I misunderstood your comment but it seemed to me that you were saying there are no rain routines in assembly and the reason I posted what I did above is because someone like tr1p1ea could very well program a rain routine in Assembly and have the person pass some variables through to the ASM program. Once again sorry if I misunderstood your comment but that is what I got from it.

F W and R are variables that should be used in your project and it should be easy for a user to just edit these variables and change the output of the program and no it does not have to be anonymous
NOTE: There is one more day and your programs have to be submitted by or before 12:00 PM tommorow, Saturday the 28th October.

Oh I was just saying you could change the white parts in the text to black parts and then maybe you could make the bg white then apply whatever background graphic you want too

yes all ASM ultilities are allowed only for graphics rendering because the actual routine has to be in BASIC

if you highlight them all then right click and say send to ti then when TI-Connect comes up you highlight the program and select archive or ram and if that doesn't work and it says all the programs or some of them are incompatible types then get ready to rename all the ones that were incompatible types(I had to do this). Even if you rename them on your computer when you send them to your calc they will have the name they should so the game will still work.
