I am posting this topic to help people who are trying to start programming an RPG. If anyone wants to they can post their routines for NPC's, hit detection, storyline creation, engine routines, anything to help out the common person

Ok so I hate the idea of following the same path as my original Galactic so I threw away all my ideas and totally revamped the game. It's now gonna be an rpg space type solving game. I have been working on it for five days already and I already have tiles, sprites, intro, storyline, menu, scrolling engine, matrix compressor and decompressor. Right now I am working on NPC's and a lot of algorithms for different parts of the game.
EDIT: Also I'm looking for a co-programmer not just someone who helps with code snippets but an actual programmer who does the serious stuff like me. I have the game already well documented so you could probaly jump right into it. It's in BASIC with Xlib.

There should be a routine so you can display grayscale by display the lcd 66% of the time and then have the second layer displayed 33% of the time so we can create 4 level grayscale easier.

I actually made my own compressor and decompressor which compresses a 12x8 matrix in 10 seconds and cuts it down 4 times its size. The decompressor decompresses it in like 12 seconds.
