Ok well I got everything down that I am definetly buying and its ~$3000 and I have $222 in the bank :(sad.gif so I have to get to work.

Also d*** the Blu-ray readers and burners are like $600. I think I will hold off on those until they are a definetly a neccesity.

I think I will stick with the GTX

575 Mhz Core > 500 Mhz Core
128 stream processors > 96 stream processors
1800 Mhz Memory > 1600 Mhz Memory
768 MB Memory > 320 MB Memory
384 bit > 320 bit

So I think the raise in price is definetly worth it just to go with the GTX.
But I will definetly get that wireless card because it looks great.

If I cannot run Half-Life 2 or Halo 3 maxed out then I will overclock otherwise I will be happy with what I have built. And yes I was considering getting a blu-ray reader. I may get one in the future too when the funds are available.

EDIT: Oh yeah and would someone be willing to help me choose and setup a wireless card when I am ready to do it??

I never said that just because they beat them with the athlon 64 that they are the s*** not! So PLEASE stop using that. Also L2 cache is far slower than L1 cache if you did not know that. L2 cache is not a very big deal to me because it is almost the same speed as RAM. Either way I am sticking with AMD. I have a laptop right now with a AMD Mobile Sempron that runs Halo maxed out!!! online with 5 players and doesn't skip a beat. I think that is a pretty good feat! for something that is running 795 Mhz with 224 MB of RAM. I mean seriously AMD totally kicks a**.

These are only my first try attempts at the 16x16 sprites. I am not good with 8x8 but I will take a shot at 32x32. Should be a good experience.

Who said I judged by clock speed. As you can see I based PART of my judgement on the L1 cache which is the fastest on board memory. The AMD processor has more which means it will access data much faster and its L2 cache matches the Intel L2 cache. It also has no hyperthreading at all. A low L1 cache is not acceptable for gaming.

Let's just admit it AMD pwn Intel with desktops.

haha spengo and yeah I will get that then graywolf. And yeah I know I love that spengo its like a really freakin cheap computer with the second best that used to be best like 2 months ago. I looked at all the best processors and its like $900 I'm like what the f***

This is why I don't want to get an Intel that's in the AMD price range:

Intel Pentium D 950 Presler 3.4GHz 2 x 2MB L2 Cache LGA 775 Processor - Retail
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116240

Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 Conroe 2.4GHz 4M shared L2 Cache LGA 775 Processor - Retail
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115003

The AMD processor I am currently getting is the best AMD processor there is(by my research). Now let's see how much the best Intel processor costs.

($970.00)Intel Core 2 Extreme QX6700 Kentsfield 2.66GHz 2 x 4MB L2 Cache LGA 775 Processor - Retail
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115011

This has no hyperthreading and less L1 cache shared over four seperate processors :(sad.gif. Then look at the price tag. The L1 cache doesn't even match how much the AMD has. Plus I just think Intel is better suited for the mobile business and AMD is better suited for the desktops. Also if AMD came out with a quad core I am sure it would pwn that quad core and cost much less.

Yes it will. Only problem I have though is you really should include some runtime libraries because I hate developing for two seperate shells and making two seperate GUI types. It doubles the size of the source code and it makes it harder to maintan. All in all I like DCS but come on support for the developers should be though of by releasing the libraries so you can include them in runtime.

If you didn't want to do that because for your own reasons like not enough time or something then I could do it for you if you wanted me to.

I know this is a computer discussion but I didn't want to start a new topic for this cause it feels like a waste, but does anyone know how much RenderWare current-gen software costs??

Yeah I don't know but I think I will stick with Vista Ultimate.

And here is my new power supply:

($84.99) HIPER HPU-4K53-MS ATX12V v2.2 530W Power Supply 100 - 120V UL, CE, TUV, FCC, CB
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817128006

And thanks graywolf that means a lot coming from you since your like a computer expert.

Well here it goes. I will update you guys with pictures as I buy these parts and assemble the computer. Then when I am done I will buy some games and throw them in there and take some pics of that too. If Halo 3 is out by the time I finish this then you can expect to see some pics of that :)smile.gif

Thanks for your help too. I thought my first experience would be pretty horrid with everything mismatched and stuff but it turned out good. It only took me 2 hours to assemble this list of parts with newegg. I love how they have those narrow down features. That definetly helped.

Yeah that's fine I was waiting for someone to tell me this stuff. This is my first computer. And your right I got DDR2 667 by accident I forgot I needed DDR2 800. Also I just like AMD better than Intel so I will stick with that. And I read a lot of reviews for the graphics card and they said that you need a lot of room because you don't want it touching anything so I wasn't sure about overheating or something like that. And yes your right those 4 USBs are on the back haha. But I also like that case because it is see through with the lights too.

Ok I will get this ram:

($299.99) OCZ Vista Upgrade 4GB(2 x 2GB) 24-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Chennel Kit
