Computer Programming / Good C++ Starting Point?
« on: April 15, 2007, 06:30:00 am »
It appears just by the title it leaves some out. I say keep that and then get a good C teaching book. The C book with prepare you with the basics you will need to understand C++ so you will be able to breeze through that book and learn what you need to learn at the same time. That's how I did it.

hmm this discussion is turning the wrong way. If things are unnatural it doesn't mean they shouldn't be done. Spencer's Zelda is unnatural does that mean he should stop. Hell no! Lot's of things are unnatural depending on your definition of natural and beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Ok let's look at it like this. Boys = PS3 and Girls = Power Outlets. If you walked in and saw a PS3 having intercouse with a PS3 you would be like woah how are you compatible you both need to be hooked up. But if you saw a PS3 having intercourse with a Power Outlet its like oh he's just getting his thing on. Haha that's my analogy. Anyways I don't care what people want to do its their life. Your life or die! Im straight because nothing matches boobs!!!!!!!!!!

TI Z80 / Long Term Project's
« on: April 12, 2007, 02:44:00 pm »
Ohhh a demo nice :)smile.gif. And puzzle mechanics?? hmmm? I think there should be doors that need 3 pieces of a puzzle to open them up and the three pieces are spread out upon the levels. And the doors left you get into secrect levels and things. You could easily store the three piceces as a list of 1's and 0's showing if they have them or not and if they have them all then the doorway disappears. Stuff like that would be cool I think and increase the gameplay.

very cool. I don't know if there are any optimizations that could be made though. I have been out of the basic loop for a long time now.

Liazon: NexGenGS*

Yes it will be all documented out in nice pretty html and very descriptive. Liazon why don't you help me develop this? It would make it go a hell of a lot quicker.

Ok just so you know the routine Liazon posted does work no doubt about it. Possibly you are not writing to plotsscreen. So bfr go find your equate for plotsscreen and tell me what it is and then tell me the value of the buffer that you are writing to. All your routine should be writing to $9340 if you want to update plotsscreen.

Just to show proof that the routine works I have written a little sample. It writes 64 bytes to plotsscreen and then calls the routine that Liazon posted. Then it calls a getkey and after a key is pressed it calls ionfastcopy which updates plotsscreen showing that it is blank.

Other Calculators / Ticalc.org
« on: April 10, 2007, 09:27:00 am »
I agree with Spengo in a sense, but ticalc.org is encouraging programming. If you just got into programming you may think it is the coolest thing what you just did and later on may say wow that sucked. But to get your program denied with a big fat NO is harsh and at least people are downloading those programs because that makes people feel good. What if when Spencer P. or Patrick D. were noobs they got their program denied and stop programming. Then where would Zelda and Phoenix be?? That's the thing. You may close someone's dream and possibly one of the greatest careers with that simple NO. So I believe their should not be a line drawn because although the present may look bleak the future looks brighter.

On another note I agree with you. It is pointless that all these noobs upload these programs and somehow thinking that they will help someone per say. It is just stupid all the accounts I see that have these crap basic math programs thrown in them and nothing else of stature.

So I remian on the fence in this subject.
