No way man! Yes! Man I actually thought that Doom 89 was sort of dormant in the past weeks(months?), but I guess not.

Haha, yeah. Easier is an understatement; counting with bars/pixels sucks compared to letting the timer do it. Plus I can run as many tests as I want, and as fast as I want without screwing up.

Yeah that was mainly the problem that I was addressing. It may be possible though, only if grendel is up for it.

TI 68K / Ultima V: General Discussion« on: November 19, 2007, 11:51:00 am »THE POST 13529951 Yeah I agree, this game is so in-depth that I think...I think it should be banned and then burnidated! lol...j/k keep up the good work Ranman. :thumb: 95
Other Calculators / There are way too many secret TI projects« on: November 19, 2007, 09:34:00 am »If they do make ARM assembly, although I am pretty sure from my sources they won't, then they will create a whole world. So long as the OS is documented fairly well, like the 83+ OS. New assembly optimizations, tutorials, compilers, etc. I think it would be really fun. I would feel like a kid in a candy store I know that. 96
TI 68K / Ultima V: General Discussion« on: November 19, 2007, 09:32:00 am »THE POST 13529770 Geez, those are some big numbers. Is there really an Ultima V "engine" where as you could like pull out the engine, and stick in different NPC sayings, graphics, etc. and make a whole new game? (kind of like UE3) If so, that is really cool, have you ever considered just releasing the engine? 97

If you know 83+ z80 assembly then you know 86 z80 assembly. Are you perhaps asking if anyone knows how to use the 86 TI-OS API, or the 86 hardware setup?
Also if an 86 port is going to happen, we are only go to do it if it is a mutal agreement between all programmers. The main problem is that two seperate builds need to be maintained. Now unless Wabbit supports 86 executable linking, then I don't know, because that would make it easier. An 89 port also isn't out of the question since both Liazon, and I know how to use C and 68K assembly. The main problem with overhauling the game for 68K is that grendel is the designer, and that would force him to make the design calls, and quite possibly he doesn't have the time for that. Either way, let's stick with the current goal which is to satisfy grendel's need, and finish two great games for the TI-83+. EDIT: It appears wabbit does support 86 executable linking. (I will talk all this over with Liazon, and grendel) 98

I agree, I hope something is done with the NSpire, but I wonder if the crowd would become big enough?

Ah, okay. Yeah, I don't think anyone was mentioning startTmr as a trick. They were just correcting what someone was saying.
Sorry if I am misinterpreting what you are saying. 100

TI 68K / Ultima V: General Discussion« on: November 17, 2007, 02:15:00 pm »THE POST 13527257 Are their still things that are compressable though? Because after all optimizing is done, then I would recommend that possibly. Otherwise I wouldn't be too mad over 1 DLLs, but I know that those suck to implement on the programming side. 102

The timer thing wasn't the trick.
The e3 against 10^( was the trick. 103

Oh okay, well yeah the trick isn't 84+ only. The trick can work for both calculators just fine.

I don't understand what you said? But basically I was saying on the 68k there could be more smoothscrolling, more enemies, more animations, a longer story, etc. But we wouldn't be able to do that, we would only just be extending the map view. 105

Well then it is getTime, which ever one returns a list of three values.
And yes that is very silly, especially since it would be applied to 83+ in some way. I am pretty sure that e3 would be faster on the 83+ too. |
