Hey just a thought you think like you could add jumps in the game and stuff like where you go over a jump and the car flys up and then you land on the other side of the track

Other Calculators / I see dead calculators
« on: January 13, 2007, 11:44:00 am »
I see dead calculators but computer coming alive. Is the TI 84 family beginning to come into an age of super calculators/computer. I have been noticing some very very astonishing software coming out for the 84 family. There has been usb8x which starts the wave of insanity. Now there is msd8x which basically adds endless memory to your calcultor and I have heard of someone making print8x which you can hook you calculator up to a printer and print stuff. Now I don't know for sure about Kerm's internet hookup project but it would be awesome if we could add internet capability to 84 family. I'm thinking a new OS I know its highly impossible but more than any other time this seems like the time to use the technology and make a new OS. Maybe you could load the new OS onto a MSD and run it or just replace the whole TI-OS but then there could be printer capability, internet, music maybe. So does anyone agree that new wave a computers is 84 family. I mean adding up all the things you would need like a calc,MSD, cables it would still only be $250 at most.

So how about it I see mIRC, TI-Word, AIM, Internet Explorer TI???

I don't know maybe I'm crazy but to me this seem realistic and the community has just amazed me with so many things that people thought were impossible. But if these things happen believe me my computer is going right to a pawn shop and I am keeping my 84+.

16x16 would be great and I think better than 8x8 although with walking I would choose for 4 pixel or 8 pixel walking over 16 because it is smoother and since 16 is divisible it is still easy to make the hit detection routine move at reasonable speeds this sounds like a great game !!

An Isometric tilemapper would rock and make for some sick psuedo 3-D games with a new twist.

Here's an update screenshot:

user posted image

@xlibman: srry xlibman but these aren't gameplay sprites :(sad.gif they are just test sprites to show the engine.

And this screenshot shows all our latest work with tilemaps, walking, sprite routines, and hit detection. And it works yay!!! Now we got to add some scrolling tilemaps and combat stuff or more tiles and a demo program mayb on the way.
