If you need some more opinions, I prefer the second one. The first one is too simple in my opinion

Axe / Re: Gravity not working« on: August 04, 2012, 01:10:11 am »I'm trying to write a basic gravity program that makes a sprite affected by gravity. For some reason the image doesn't show on the screen and the program insta-closes when run. It's written for axe and compiled for mirageos. Also, would you mind attaching the source code in 8xp, or at least write the source in text format so we can get a 8xp through some IDE instead of only putting screenshots (for the lazy ones ) ? I guess it was directly written in ASM and the author missed something(and basically every other decent calculator shell)Except Ion itself, in some cases (see Final Fantasy v1.198) 2194

TI Z80 / Re: Alien Breed 5« on: August 03, 2012, 10:42:53 am »You could always generate "dynamic" wall tiles. Just use 1 wall tile in your tilemap, but while loading the map make it detect what types of tiles are immediately adjacent to it. Then, you can figure out what kind of tile image is supposed to go there. If you do this, I recommend calculating all the tile image types beforehand. It'll take a bit of time and space, but the level compression will save more in the long run.^This. Keep one wall tile in the compressed data and decompress it into several types of wall when decompressing And this is indeed very beautiful like that 2198

I think there should be separate threads for bug reporting, congratulations and releases, so calc84 can see what he needs when he needs it. For example, as it is now, he will probably miss the error I reported on the previous page

TI-Nspire / Re: gpSP-Nspire (GBA Emulator)« on: August 03, 2012, 04:03:17 am »By the way how do we modify ndless.cfg.tns? On the real calc or on a computer via notepad? Does it need to be recompiled? On the computer via notepad Also, I don't know what is happening with Super Monkey Ball Jr When launching it, it displays text that doesn't look like text but like an image or like a GBA debugger or I don't know, with written on a black background what is written below (I used netham45 to render a background but it is obviously not the good color). However, quitting still works. [netham45]

TI-Nspire / Re: OSLauncher 3.1« on: August 03, 2012, 03:35:55 am »
The problem is not only for it to be permanently blocked, but even blocked every years, as it is now. This way, the Nspire community doesn't grow and even decreases

TI-Nspire / Re: OSLauncher 3.1« on: August 03, 2012, 03:34:01 am »On the other hand, Hayleia, regardless of if PTTKiller existed or not, I doubt TI would ever change their mind about Ndless. They already made up their mind about ASM and C way back in 2006. That said, maybe if we play nice they'll not permanently block Ndless yet? (Seeing how OS 3.2 can still be downgraded back to the very OS that can run Ndless 3.1, despite coming out several months after Ndless 3.1, it almost seems like TI doesn't mind us running Ndless to a certain extent)Yes, that is my point of view. Let's not kill the opportunity TI didn't give us yet 2202
TI-Nspire / Re: OSLauncher 3.1« on: August 03, 2012, 03:27:02 am »What people don"t understand is that PTTKiller doesn't do anything special, anything that requires extensive OS hacking skills. And what you don't understand is that if Ndless gets permanently blocked, all your work on Theme Editor for example is useless. Moreover, I don't care about the simplicity of PTTKiller, I only care about what it does, and in my opinion it should not be called PTTKiller but NspireCommunityKiller. If PTTKiller is already in Ndless, then why was a standalone PTTKiller ever published? It is not that PTTKiller is already in Ndless, it is that Ndless almost does not need extra code to kill PTT 2203
TI-Nspire / Re: OSLauncher 3.1« on: August 03, 2012, 03:20:31 am »I know, I do run a site as well, and the first time I was moderator on a message board was about ten years agoAnd the last time you moderated a message was with me, complaining about what I am complaining now And when I complained about it, I never mentionned Omnimaga. 2204
TI-Nspire / Re: OSLauncher 3.1« on: August 03, 2012, 03:00:36 am »one line of CYes, and this line of C was not put in Ndless, but in PTTKiller, so Ndless is not a PTTKiller. There is the same difference between a human and a human with a gun: one can hurt, not the other. 2205
TI-Nspire / Re: OSLauncher 3.1« on: August 03, 2012, 02:42:49 am »Ndless is already a PTTKiller. Just put things in ndless/startup/ folder and it will be launched at startup even in PTT mode. No, Ndless has the possibility to kill PTT but PTTKiller does kill it. And once again (truly this time), Ndless purpose is not to kill PTT while PTTKiller's purpose is. |
