The most noobish noob on Omnimaga or in general ? Also, this thread could be aggressive, I don't know if it's a good idea.

6465: You are starting to hate Street (true story)
Don't worry, as soon as Streetwlarus and I manage to have a Melee Netplay, you'll get revenge

Erm, those screenshots do look appealing but on calc, it's not so fun - It is slow, maybe you forgot to remove the sleeps or whatever
- Why don't you use numkeys to move ? It is very annoying on CXes and other touchpad Nspires
- Why the heck is ESC for firing ? I tried all the obvious keys but this one to fire, then I was about quit and pressed ESC (to quit, as I said) and it fired Then I was wondering what was the key to exit, and found out it was DEL but seriously, why ESC for something else than quitting ? Every Nspire program quits with ESC
So of course, do what you want, but if you don't do "numpad to move, ctrl to fire and shift/tab to change polarity" (tab is what you use already), make a good readme about it

I had a rabbit when I was younger too I called him Zorro because he was all black, except for a white square on his neck. I don't have any photos of him on that computer though. He really loved his home. We removed the grids from his cage because he didn't like them and was making noise during the night but he never went out, except one time during the night when he falled for some reason and then made a lot of noise for us to help him get back in (his cage was not on the ground). Everytime we tried to play with him he just struggled on the parquet to try to get back in his cage. Another thing he seemed to like was to be stuck in a towel, like you put him on a towel, you fold it over him then you roll it until he gets wrapped inside. Once there, he was still able to move, he could have tried to get out, but he never did, as if he liked that. So everytime we had to cut his nails, we used a towel so he stopped moving. My parents gave him to a center for pets when he was 6 because they discovered I was allergic to cats. Yeah, I said "rabbit" at the beginning and "cat" here, that's my parents' logic. At least I didn't see him die.

Anyway Yeah, he said his goal was to promote the usage of the CAS, hence why all those CAS

I fear this might be something that TI 'fixed'.
That.
Also Parisse ? Any relation with Bernard Parisse the author of Xcas ?
Yeah, it's him. He is also on TI Planet and the extension he is trying to get to work is a CAS again

I was hoping to be able to get SSB3DS before I went to Hawaii this summer Mostly because the flight is a long trip, though. It's not like I'd sit there on the beaches playing it.
Really? I know from experience that SSB is quite addicting
True. My parents asked me if I wanted to go on holidays during the summer holidays and I said "no". One of the reasons was Smash 3DS I really hope it will be worth it if we have to wait some more.

Ubuntu was ridiculously slow on my netbook. Even just moving the mouse around was laggy -.- But Lubuntu runs great and is indeed plug-n-play, and still very configurable once you get used to it. The only problem is that to get Lubuntu, you have to install it. It's not hard but the "average user" they are talking about probably doesn't even know how to click on an icon.

Lua will also ensure that your programs still run on as many OSes as possible, should Ndless, required to run C/ASM stuff, never come out for OS 3.9 and higher.
Not even so true. Since their Lua is always changed from a version to another (made faster on certain points and slower on others), you can not even be sure that your Lua program will run the same on newer OSes. Of course, you can at least be sure they will run. I recently came from a Ti-84 ... Could/ can someone port the Ti-Basic of the 84 to the NSPire?
I guess people know what I am going to write... The TI-84 doesn't exist. There is always something after the "84", either a "Plus" or a "Pocket", sometimes both, sometimes followed with "SE" or ".fr" and now even "CSE". It used not to matter since they were all compatible (if we forget about boot code 1.03) but now the CSE broke that rule so you have to give the full name each time. Or at least give the name of a compatible calc so we know if it is monochrome or not (like you can say "84+SE" instead of "84+PocketSE" if you think that the latter is too long to write, no one cares, not even me ). And this will be the same for Nspire. Do you imagine yourself asking for help and saying "I have a TI" ? How can people help ? Then you could say "a TI Nspire", but if your question is about derivation, ok but CAS or not ? Same, if you ask for gpSP, you have to tell us if it is a CX or not. So of course, maybe you don't know at first that you have to give the hardware revision for some questions, but at least always give the full name

And I do only have a regular 83+.
OK then, forget about what I said, save space in any way you can. For example, I'd advise not to use DoorsCS but MirageOS (and compile as Ion at least so it appears in MirageOS). You could also use zStart but it is a bit annoying on a regular 83+.

Plus, there is almost no point in not closing your parentheses. The only reason would be that you only have a regular 83+ with very little space and you even want to save space in your source code. But otherwise, Freq(40,999 and Freq(40,999) both compile in exactly the same thing.

Ideed, it looks great I especially like the elevator. effect. So...DOOM?
There are already a few Doom clones available. Plus, they "only" need a raycaster, not a full 3D engine.

Oooh I see. I think I might have read about it somewhere. I wonder if that calc can be bought outside China? I remember the HP community did something similar with the WP34 or something, based on an HP model.
I don't think it can be bought anywhere, it's just a project for the fun/challenge

Everyone who's complaining about the slow anims: This is why I need optimization. I mean, I'm doing a lot of calculations when the moves occur. I'm using grayscale. I'm doing 3 byte scores. My graphics are 15x15 Bitmaps. There has to be a Game Over check and Win check after every move. There are probably some snippets of code I'm not sure I need, like a use of the abs() token somewhere in the animations. What do you expect in terms of instantaneosity?
Calculations should occur before the move, so you just have to move afterwards. 3 bytes score and Win/Loss checks have nothing to do with animations. The only things that can slow down are the grayscale and the 15x15 bitmaps (which could be replaced with 4x 8x8 sprites). And once again, what I complain about isn't the general slowness, which your two arguments could explain, but the fact it is slower when more tiles move, which is very annoying and this is probably an algorithmic problem, not an Axe optimisation one. In other words, I don't care if it runs at 1 FPS as long as it is a constant 1 FPS, and not 60 FPS first then 1 FPS when I played more. And I'd gladly help you if I didn't have enough to do with school projects -.- Seriously, I envy those people in French high schools who only have the Bac and have plenty of free time compared to what I have.
