News / Re: Ourl.ca Gets a Home Page!

When you say you are going to run a script to convert links, does that mean you'll edit all posts on Omnimaga to have new links ?
If so, that would not solve the problem since there are links to Omnimaga on TI Planet, Cemetech, in readmes on ticalc, on Google, ...

Why not have something server based that detects if the url is "old" and converts it into a new one instead ? This way, no need to change anything in any post and every new and old links work.

I just got an idea about links being broken. I don't know how feasible it is though, I am not an expert at web.

Why not put the "new website" in a "new folder" and have all links to the "old folder" be redirected with an offset to the "new folder" ? This way, every link already written somewhere is still valid and every new link is too.

TI Z80 / Re: zStart - an app that runs on ram clears

I didn't find where I could attach a zip in a PM -.-°

Also, thepenguin77, Adriweb on TI Planet asked if it would be possible to have the editor display comments in grey instead of black. I am sure you can pull it off but that would complicate the code a lot for not a lot of usefulness so what do you think about it ?
I also thought about something else: if you have space in your second page, why not include MirageOS libs ?

You can sign it yourself, that's what I did. Just get RabbitSign somewhere and drag-and-drop zStart on the "drag and drop over me" file ;)

Yeah, that's what I thought because my calc didn't complain at all. I'll try updating Wabbitemu and see it that fixes anything.
And once again, amazing work !

Man, I didn't even know zStart could be made more awesome that it already was. I just put it on my calc and it's perfect. Speed is really far from being an issue and I can see my indented code without having wrapped lines.

However, Wabbitemu doesn't want to receive this update (says "file too big" even if I have a lot of free RAM (everything is archived) and a lot of free archive. And it doesn't want to uninstall the previous version either, it starts turning off instead of opening the program menu and not accepting any number key input in the homescreen. I had no problem to install it on my calc though (except that it seems like I had to sign the app).

TI-Nspire / Re: nvid - Compressed video player for the Nspire

Oh, sorry, I forgot to read the first post again before trying x.x
But yeah, automatic installation is a thing you could say in the readme too, because some people who will download without reading that post (they can have heard of it from another website who gave the link without giving a description).

Ok, I got it :)

And I just tried it, indeed, quality is really great seeing how little space it uses. I got a full video clip in 7Mo only :D
However, it plays a bit laggy :(

And you should include a readme, I had to open your bat file to see what it does and understand what I have to do :P
You could also say that "ivf" is the extension you are using and that you must add in the cfg.

But great work overall ! :)

Well lossy and more compressed than nspire movie player, but is it less lossy than nspire movie player ? :P
And I'll try that, but could you make screenshots or videos of it in action for the lazy ones ones who don't have their calc at immediate availability ?

From what I understood, it also depends on which 3.2 you are talking about. 3.2.3 is more friendly (you can downgrade from it) but 3.2.4 is not (more friendly than 3.6, so with a good HW revision, you can still manage, but not as easily as with 3.1 or 3.2.3).

I don't know about vp8-encoded videos so I'll ask questions.
Is it lossless ?
Is the compress ratio better than the one used in nspiremovieplayer (sorry, I can't give you a link, they are all broken on Omnimaga for the moment and I can't use Google to find the topic) ?

Other Calc-Related Projects and Ideas / Re: New Ideas for Calculators

-Wireless 2.5 mm cables
Third party ones may be done but companies won't do it since it gives more possibilities to cheat.

-Touchscreeen capabilities
Already done, see the HP Prime. All Casio Classpads had a touchscreen but the latest one is slow as hell and the other ones didn't have color, and I guess you want color since you are talking about "new" features.

-holsters to easily hold calculators
Not everybody always need a calc. Of course we do here (:P) but other people would find useless to pay for that. Maybe some companies would sell that, but this will not be by default.
Also, I have large enough pockets.

-Calculator Defense Mechanism to defend against thieves (I had mine stolen so)
I don't see what you can do about it. Even using a password with zStart, one can still steal your calc, then see that a password is needed, he'll throw your calc away, not giving back to you apologizing.

-Sonic Screwdriver-like sensors
I didn't get this one.

Axe / Re: Differences in language btwn TIBASIC and AXE

Try running this code in Basic:
Code: [Select]
.AA
Data(|pi|11111111,|pi|01111111,|pi|00111111,|pi|00011111,|pi|00001111,|pi|00000111,|pi|00000011,|pi|00000001,|pi|00000000)->GDB0

L1->°AA
L1+3->°BB
ClrDraw(L1)
While 1
 BB+getKey(3)-getKey(2)+96^96->BB
 AA+getKey(1)-getKey(4)^64->AA
 65535->Q
 For(8 )
  Select({BB^8+GDB0},->{Q+++AA^64*12+(BB/8->r3)+L6->r2}) xor |pi|11111111
  ->{r3-11??r2-11,r2+1}
 End
 DispGraphClrDraw
EndIf getKey(15)

Basic is interpreted and Axe is compiled, so usually, Basic is slower than Axe in games but smaller. However, Basic is more apropriate for maths program.

Yeah, that could be hard in stores :P
But if you buy it second hand, then you can check. You can check the OS too (3.6 is more annoying to downgrade).

Be sure to get a compatible hardware revision though when buying.
