A virtual machine can only emulate devices with lower specs than the machine you run it on. The ti-84+CSE has the same specs as the 84+ (apart from the larger archieve), so it won't be able to run the normal 84+ OS.
!
A mac os running on your windows compuer would actually be running on higher specs....not lower specs(especially if the pc is for windows xp)
Sorry if I drift off-topic a bit, but I seem to have an English misunderstanding. Aren't dreamdragon and ben_g saying the same thing, like "emulating is a high resource device emulating a lower resource" ? If so, why do I have the impression dreamdragon is contradicting ben_g ? Note: this might just be all me not understanding things.

The title sums it all. I don't know if you were already asked (and I would be surprised if you weren't) but I didn't see that question anywhere. So would you consider adding CSE support for Wabbitemu ?
(And I know there is jsTIfied, but I hate online solutions, I spend 6 hours per week in a train and "online" can't be part of a solution).

(A) While a full-screen update on the non-color calculators takes about 1/100th of a second and almost everything that uses it relies on it being fast, a full-screen update on the color calcs takes about 1/5th of a second Yeah but we could cheat with some frameskip and with the double-pixel trick. Moreover, some coders (like matref and I, or Builderboy and others) still have the possibility to trigger the 15MHz mode to get more speed on the CSE without losing any compatibility this time, so our programs of course will have speed issues, but also some speed gains. Also that depends on the program you are porting because I don't think AudaciTI will have too much issues with refreshing since nothing happens on the screen except menus (C) why not just use a non-color calculator in that case.
That's not for me, that's for people like MacBernick or dreamdragon who only have a CSE and may want games on it. So of course, giving them the old games is not the best to do, but that can help them wait.

The CSE has too few RAM and CPU speed to run smooth games like the TI-84 did. It is a limitation because even if the programmers keep the sprites in B/W, the CSE still has to render them like color sprites, therefore making games slower than they could run on their original hardware.
That limits the applications that can be ported to the CSE for now. It is not impossible for TI to release a better CSE in the future, but for now games like Portal Prelude or F-Zero probably won't be ported.
IIRC, the CSE has more RAM than newer 84+ calcs due to extra RAM pages being back. And it doesn't have a higher CPU speed, but since Portal Prelude was made in 6MHz to keep compatibility with the regular 83+, you can still think you do have a higher CPU speed available. You also have the possibility not to refresh the whole screen, which can work on a "static" game like Portal Prelude. But yeah, F-Zero is going to be harder. the TI-84.
I always say that, and I seem to be the only one, but there is no "the TI-84". This because there is always something behind the "84", either a "Plus" or a "Pocket", sometimes both, sometimes followed by a ".fr" or a "SE", and now with the possibility of a "CSE". So yeah, I can understand that you can't name them all each time and that most of them are compatible between each other, but now that the CSE is out (and since you mentionned the CSE in your sentence), you could talk about non-CSE 84 calcs as "the non-CSE 84 calcs", but not "the 84" since even in your sentence you are talking about another 84 calc so really, there is no " the 84". the Arse Parser threads.
Heresy!

Ah ok, I thought it took a 8.8 fixed point number as input. Ok, I get it, thanks

Ok, thanks But that also means that I have to multiply my first integer by 256, right ? I'll try that when my exams are over -.-

I agree that full screen is a must, but Lua code, Axe code, C++ code, console code or brainf*ck code, it doesn't matter, this is made to amaze noob and as long as text they don't understand is written in green on a black background, they assume you are a hacker.

And from what I understood, extra RAM pages are back, so at worst, copy all sensitive RAM there when launching the program then copy it back where it should be when quitting.

I just got a stupid idea. Why not make an early version of Axe for CSE that would be exactly the same as the current Axe, but with changed DispGraph (and DispGraphr and caetera) so that it displays a stretched L6 (and L3 and caetera) on the screen ?

Yeah, but the guy is banned so he can't really fix them.

Well you can still participate in Basic and make an ASCII game that only uses part of your CSE screen to fit on a non-CSE screen or make a cross-platform game

Sorry for not posting with an update, but I just wanted you to know that I got an adapter And indeed, this has good volume However, the calculator is a lot faster than Wabbitemu and the calibration screen seems not to include any A o.O Seems that I have to change that.
