TI-Nspire / Re: Minecraft 2D for TI-Nspire
« on: November 30, 2013, 02:00:34 pm »
It's games like this that make me want to get a Nspire. Sadly I have to choose between a 3ds, a nspire and a prime. No easy choice!
If you choose Nspire, choose your Nspire so it is Ndlessable ;)
And nothing prevents you from getting a 3DS and coding emus for both calculators on it :P

When is the next update Do you think?????
This is  *.* AMAZING  *.*
Well the next update will be when the author adds enough interesting features to deserve a release, so I don't see the point of asking for an update without precising what exactly you'd like for a feature in that update (for example annoyingcalc said "this needs to be fixed in the next update", not just "update") ???

News / Re: Contest 2013 Calculator Gaming Roots - Public Vote
« on: November 30, 2013, 01:21:36 pm »
it was only done to get a hint of what it was looking like. have fun voting!
That is exactly the problem. People will be like "oh, Tip Over is the best ? I'll try this one first", spend 15 minutes on it, then think "owait, there were others" but won't spend 15 minutes on each because they will be tired of testing. So their vote will be biased.

I attach here a version that fixes two graphical annoyances:
  • The Memory bar always fills itself instead of filling/unfilling
  • The Simon bar doesn't fill more than the space it has

I don't know if Lives are fixed or not, I may have fixed it weeks ago or I may not.

I also added a better Titlescreen+Menu.

Keep in mind though that those annoyances exist when voting.

Could you put the full ranking and not only the first three please ?
That, and also maybe the points you gave according to the rubric, because I understand why Piko Piko and JezBall are here, but Tip Over is as addictive as Cut The Rope, which means you can't let it down for an hour and then you finish it and then it has zero replay value (you already know the solution to the levels).

Aren't those sprites from BlastLabs ?
Note, this is not meant to be mean like "u stealed dem", on the contrary it is a great thing that they don't go to waste. Just don't forget to give credits to their author :)

@Hayleia: Ah, thanks for pointing out, I certainly would have forgotten it! My plan was to upload minecraft 2D to ticalc when it's finished but this is the first contest I'll participate! I'm so excited! :D

Edit: Ok, file is uploaded and email is sent to [email protected] (?) Now let's hope that it was still in time... when is the deadline?
Great ! :D
Yeah, that seems to be the right adress. And the deadline is December the 1st (you must be featured before this date, not just upload before this date, but I guess it is ok).

The POTY is coming and your program still wasn't uploaded to ticalc.org ;)
So yeah, Lionel thinks (and he's not the only one) that it would be a pity not to have your program entering that contest, so if you want to, you can upload your program (this one and others) to ticalc and send an email to ticalc admins saying why your program deserves to be featured. And be fast, the deadline is really close.

Seems like Link was dead from the beginning in Majora's Mask
Spoiler For Spoiler:

I think this is a pretty interesting theory, that just gives sense to the whole game. It is just a bit sad maybe.

Lol weird, I used MemKit before, I remembered that it had this feature, went to the readme before asking you the question but didn't find the answer O.O
I guess I must have read only the first line of each section or something like that -.-

Thanks :)

The question was asked on a French forum where people for some reason don't want to come here even though this is where they'll get the most accurate answers about Axe.

So anyway, here is the question: is it possible to change the size of an appvar ?
Note, I assume the answer is "yes" and the real question is "how ?" :P

Gaming Discussion / Re: Is the 3DS worth it ?

Note  : The XL doesnt have a better screen, the pixels are just bigger. And that makes the result quite ugly...
Well, it doesn't have a better resolution, but still, I am used to 5.7'' and 5.8'' screens. So ok, the XL will shock me with its big pixels, but the non XL will shock me too for the same reason (because the 5.7'' is Full HD) plus with its little 3.53'' size.
Also, there is not only the size of the screen, there is the comfort of using something bigger (I have long fingers) and the imprints problem AoC mentionned on the non XL.

I'm not fond of 3D, though, so I wish that they made a 2DS earlier (one that you can fold, though).
Yeah, same, I don't want to pay for a feature I'll always disable but I'd like to fit the device in my pockets lol.

I like the 3DS personally. Lots of the Mario games are worth it, as well as the RPGs.
Ok, thanks for your opinion too :)

Now to decide among several choices:
  • Get one myself without telling my parents (like, I'm 19, I don't care anyway)
  • Get one myself and tell my parents afterwards so they pay back :P
  • Ask my parents to get me one (most honest choice, but the one most subject to fail)

And
  • XL (with the advantages AoC said)
  • Not XL (can be bought second hand for a bit cheaper than a new 3DS, and a lot cheaper than a new XL)

For the grey scale syntax highlighting, is it possible to draw text to the backbuffer in AXE?
There was an Axiom made by Jacobly for that. I have no idea where it is though. It was called TEXT.

That looks great already : :D
May I suggest you to make "usual buttons" work, I mean make menus exactly like in the TI-OS (but if I understood correctly how your program works, they would insert characters, not tokens) ? Of course, that doesn't prevent you from adding other ways to write, but I think most of us are really used to those menus.
