So why a Ti-83+ Silver Edition and not a Ti-84+? Is it because you had one handy, or because (for some reason) so many people want them? Or another reason?

Like the others, I'd say Clickpad non-CAS, since you explicitly wrote that you're into gaming but not into math.
With the Clickpad non-CAS, you get the 84+ keypad as a bonus, which, besides the 84+ mode, could prove useful with, say, a 89(T) emulator (89/89T and most of the recent TI-Z80 family models have the same layout).
So true. Unfortunately, there are some Ti-83/84+ games that won't work because TI got lazy and forgot to emulate certain Z80 features.

I've never "dropped" a Ti-84+ or Ti-84+ Silver Edition, but I feel like they can last longer than a Ti-83+ if both are dropped exactly the same way. I've always complained about the "bulkiness" of the Ti-84+, but I wonder if it would last under pressure.
Not to go off topic, but there was never a regular Ti-84, was there?

They don't care because development is not a function or feature that TI wants to advertise.
The TI-83 is a graphing calculator to be used for educational purposes.
If the product is used for other activities, then they're all like, OHEMGEEDUDEINMAHCALCSAPPINGMAHCODE.
So, short answer, no. TI-Cares doesn't care.
Actually, although the Ti-83+ is meant for educational purposes, they encouraged designing games using ASM (let along developing ASM programs in general). Not only is Puzzle-Pack included on the Ti-83+ Silver Edition (Or used to be), but they featured a Ti-83+ ASM game, saying something like "A game you can play--when you're not doing school, that is." True, they don't advertise development, but the fact remains that they used to support it quite nicely. I would not have worked on S.A.D. if it had not been for their SDK that was available free of charge.

Now that I think about it, DJ probably is at more than 12015 posts. This site does a decent job of counting posts, but for some reason, 1 out of every 100 or so seems to slip unnoticed.
It's because a bunch of them were in the Randomness and Intro sections, which doesn't count towards individual user's post counts, just the board total.
I think I made one in the "1000 signs of addiction" section yesterday, and it didn't count toward my count. I think that was because my internet shut down in the middle of loading my post

Yeah sadly there's no easy way to do that. Upgrading the mod that votes on posts would be possible but we would need SMF 2.0 RC3, which means we would lose all 4 forum skins, most other mods and settings, plus a lot of hassle at converting everything would ensue.
There's MySQL dumping, which was used to track who did the vandalism last time, but I don't think everyone wants other people to know what they voted on (dumping the db would also show that)

I think that last email will once-and-for-all answer our question: Will ti-cares care.
If they don't forward the email to someone who can answer the question, they don't care. If the person who recieves the forwarded email WON'T answer the question, they don't care. They have to answer the question honestly, truthfully, and without dodging to prove otherwise
