Here's a new update! This will be my last one for a while, but not because of homework; it's because my next goal on this project requires a lot of time:
1. Make this into two app pages (For those of you who want to risk putting this on the calculator without filing any lawsuits, this is important: Future builds, not including this one, will take TWICE AS MUCH SPACE on your calculator, as well as a decent amount of RAM. The RAM will be emptied when the program exits, but it will take somewhere around 10-15 kbs of ram until futher progress. Please don't complain, rather run further builds on an emulator unless you're willing to spare the space.) 2. Optimize 3. Add the ships!
The "Friendly" at the bottom of the info bar means the structure belongs to you or your teammate. If you see the word "enemy", that means it's an enemy structure. We're doing it this way to save space required for colored buildings.
Special thanks to Joe Pemberton for his routine that converts binary to text, I needed that to display the HP values

Do you think the tutorial would be available both in offline and online form, like how was ASM in 28 days before? It's going to be downloadable PDF files. * DJ Omnimaga hopes this wont half S.A.D progress completly, though Heaven forbid

Yeah, I had to upgrade my graphics card for Supreme Commander 1 and 2...otherwise my 5 year old computer works well for the program

So far, things are looking positive. I'm going to give great consideration if at least 5 people want to learn, very likely if 7, and I'd be a fool if I didn't teach at least 10 people who want to learn

Would it be in document form? Yes, it'd be one document for every lesson. I personally am unsure really, because the learning process seemed long and I heard that coding RPGs in ASM (my favorite game genre) is a major hassle. You would have to ask Iambian how it is. However, I think ASM needs to be taught in an easier way than ASM in 28 days, which assumes the user has knowledge of another language besides BASIC and is taught without visual people/people with lower learning capacity in mind My approach would be visuals, numerous examples, and perhaps labs. The thing that is almost guranteed to make the language easy is, it will take about 50 lessons to teach 1/3 of asm 28 days, covering only the important stuff (since people can download routines and stuff). Since I am not an expert on calculator hardware and still can do asm, I'm not going to teach much on hardware myself.

Hi, guys,
So I understand that many people wanting to learn ASM have a hard time doing so. I'm willing to attempt to teach the language in an easier way, with the idea being the lessons taking a long time (much longer than 28 days), but easy to work through. But I need a lot of people wanting to learn it, or it's not worth my time. Please consider that I won't be able to teach everything on ASM, as I've only begun using it myself, but at least it will be enough so that you can start using "Learn ASM in 28 days" or a similar language.
Let me know if you guys want to learn, and just remember, you're learning from someone who took three years before he could understand the language, so I will make sure that it's easy for the average ti-basic programmer to understand.

Thanks to DJ, here's Stalok's new face, almost exactly what I envisioned.

no problem.
I should actually post this in the pixel art section. While it is not too practical for a 83+ RPG due to the char size (unless you dont mind using 24x32 chars and A LOT of tiles) it could still remain very useful for people. What I like is how colors can be changed
For the campaign the characters walk a lot in cutscenes. Although there are some suits/heads the designer doesn't provide, I can't tell you how useful I'm finding this program to be

Where do you get this character generator? And the image will actually be 24 x 24. I just zoomed it in.

I was afraid someone was going to call his "hair" a hat; I've got more work to do

Just a reminder that what I put in here is stuff that will be in the manual, not campaign spoilers. Sadly, my drawing skills could be better, as these faces are not what I'm envisioning in my head Character: Lieutanant Shawn StalokRace: Human Age: 35 (Unconfirmed) Height: 5'9" Weight: 210 pounds Characteristics not seen in this image: Blond hair with gel, blue eyes, weight is due to muscle and not to fat The information concerning Stalok's early years is, quite literally, non-existent. For a while, this kept him from entering the Tosonian War; however, his reflexes and IQ excel above those of any other pilot. For 15 years, as far as anyone can tell, he dedicated himself to experimenting with the modern-day Reclauda, even though the engineers themselves felt they had perfected it. The work payed off: he pilots his personal Reclauda so well, he can take on at least 325 enemy vessels all by himself. Needless to say, he is a prize to any Admiral that he works under, making him a constant source of competition whenever he has to transfer. In addition, the engineers at the ESEO are now trying to refit their machinery to design such Reclaudas, although they understand that Stalok's fast reflexes are quite rare to find, meaning that no one can control a Reclauda even half as well as he can. Although most Admirals need Stalok for tactics and combat, he does, for no known reason, have a vast amount of knowledge on Tosonians. From time to time he provides information that leads to great victories in battle. No one knows why it is that Stalok keeps his hair spiked, or why he wears his sunglasses whenever he goes into battle. While he does not reveal the reason, he does say that it has nothing to do with personal ego, vanity or beliefs. EDIT: Read on in the topic to see Stalok's picture. I made some changes, as further posts indicate

I have no idea why the scrolling speed isn't consistent (I did notice that), but we're optimizing--or going to be optimizing--the drawing for the buildings, since we hope to have 24 on screen at greatest.
